Quick to take our order on arrival, then nothing for 25 minutes, decided to check with the staff - its on its way, 1 more minute. After another 5 minutes I queried again, who I assumed was the Manager explained that there was a backlog in the kitchen. This explanation did not stack up as tables around us were being served (orders that were taken after ours) & the restaurant was not busy. I would rather if he had been honest & said they messed up on the order. 35 minutes after ordering, our pan fried cod arrived - food was poor, plate covered in overcooked veg. No offer of a discount or apology on departure. 3 areas to be addressed to improve the experience
1 - Train the staff - when things go wrong it can be an opportunity to make a positive impression, rather than negative reviews & no repeat business.
2 - Improve the food, quantity never wins out over quality
3 - Invest in the toilets its 30 years overdue
