The efforts of the staff especially the restaurant and breakfast staff went to making sure we were comfortable and our 18 month old son had crayons, pancakes, straws etc. was unbelievable. The fact that they went out of their way to keep our little boy happy allowed us for the first time in any hotel to relax and not be rushing breakfast or skipping desert or eating in turns. Their making us feel welcome with a baby, allowed us to relax. I can not recommend this hotel highly enough and of all the hotels I have stayed in I have never came back so impressed and already I find myself telling everyone about our trip, which I normally would not do. This was ALL down to the staff!!!
Thank you for your kindness and we will be seeing you again.

We booked 1 night with dinner included for my family and my parents. When we arrived they were very kind and put us in 2 linked rooms and everyone was very friendly.

As we had read other reviews I was a little worried about dinner but the service, atmosphere, food quality (and quantity) were great. This is also the same for breakfast. In particular I would like to say that every staff member we encountered over meals was very warm and polite but also professional with their duties. I work in the service industry and know that this comes from a good tone from the top. Therefore I'm surprised by other reviews now as I can't believe this would change from one day to the next and I potentially would also call into question their validity in the first place...

Thank you to everyone for a great stay (spa is incredible too which sort of goes without saying!)

I have to admit that we were very worried reading all the bad reviews that were posted about this hotel to the point that we were tempted not to go. Because of all these negative reviews we feel it's only fair to let others know our experience.
We could not fault anything, from the extremely warm welcome to the hotel (it was clear from the moment we opened the door to reception that staff working here were very happy - it was very reassuring) all the staff were very friendly, helpful, efficient, to the lovely food, the lovely relaxing atmosphere at the bar (and great service), to the lovely, clean room (with a perfect temperature), unbelievably spacious bathroom with bath and double shower, to the fab breakfast that you would happily get out of bed for (the pastries are to die for!)
Basically a great stay. Would definitely recommend and hope to go back again. Stupidly we didn't book any treatments because of the bad reviews and then it was too late when we got there. We're slowly learning not to believe everything we read.
Thank you to the staff and management who really pull out all the stops and deserve credit for it.

We purchased a few vouchers from groupon (I think - one of those deal websites anyway!) a group of us travelled down. The voucher allowed us access to the leisure centre, B&B and also an evening meal. We arrived and were greeted by very friendly staff on checkin. I asked and they even upgraded our parents to a nicer room. Our room was very nice with a bath and shower and a comfortable bed etc. The meal was absolutely delicious and the restaurant provided a really nice atmosphere, the food was amazing and the staff were really nice and helpful. After the meal we relaxed in the bar for a drink and there was live music also. The breakfast the next day was amazing!! Any food you wanted and it was buffet style so you can help yourself to whatever you want - make sure to ask for the poached eggs - ah perfection!! They also had freshly baked pastries which were delicious! The offer also included a late checkout and we all therefore spent a few hours relaxing in the leisure centre before we left. This was a really relaxing and enjoyable way to end the trip. The leisure centre provides all you could want with a jacuzzi, outdoor hot-tub (this was fantastic!), a steam room, sauna and also two facilities I had never encountered before. One was a room with heated seats and the other had heated tiled beds - these were so relaxing and therapeutic that we didn't want to leave. The pool was great and there is also a kids section if you have them with you. They also have a massive high class gym which we didn't have time to use unfortunately but it looks top class. We all had such a nice time in the leisure centre that when we checked out we decided to have lunch there before we left. Once again the food was fantastic and was really reasonably priced for very big portions of really good food. Overall I can't recommend this hotel enough. Trust me you won't be disappointed and we will definitely be back!

Room Tip: We were in the standard superior room which was very spacious, clean and had a great bathroom. We al...

Arrival and check in was Ok. But as we checked in another guest was complaining that his room had not been cleaned. It was 4:30. The person in reception said his system showed the room was cleaned. He then asked someone to "check" the room. As if not believing the guest. Our room was clean and a good size, but there was only 2 towels in the room. A lot of doors in the corridors were damaged where staff had obviously pushed them open with trolleys. Bar staff were slow and inattentive, served drinks in the wrong glasses and when asked for the correct glass did not seem to understand. Obviously not trained. Breakfast was buffet, but was good quality (not dried out).

As we are parents of two little boys...a wee night away for myself and my husband is a real treat but boy did we waste our money on this hotel. The food in the restaurant was terrible. We found it unbelievable that they could serve up food that was soo sub standard. The service left a lot to be desired. Don't waste your money
