Stayed here for 4 nights. Was disappointed in our cabin as the reason I booked the one bedroom cabin was that the bedding was stated as "double bunk plus double bed"

A double bunk does not mean a double bed under a single bunk as I'd thought! It is a submarine bunk with the bottom one being a gum mat on a piece of wood on the ground! The double bed is also a horrible soft mattress which sinks and gives you a sore back. Extremely uncomfortable! Plus it was not overly clean.

Go for the cosy cabin with 2 bunks. It is much better set out with the air con/tv access.

They both cost the same but the Cosy cabin has more room and is much more comfortable.

Cafe is good. The staff are extremely friendly and prices are decent.

Front desk staff are also friendly.

The park offers pools and spa (which are closed strictly at 8:30pm by a grumpy groundsman!) thanks! however they are fantastic otherwise. Especially at night time when the flames are lit.

Unfortunately we were flooded out whilst there so the jumping pillow was a mess and the petting zoo was out of bounds but that's not managements
fault.

Overall at $155 per night (with 4 groups staying) I was a bit disappointed in the lack of shuttles to the parks, no on site supplies store and the fact you have to pay $10 for 30mins on the pedal cars for the kids!

I wouldn't stay here again as the only saving grace of our stay was the pool.

Sorry. Find somewhere with shuttle access and decent cabins.

Hi TravellingMama3,

We are really sorry you didn't enjoy your stay with us. We try do try really hard to explain the various types of accommodation (including loading videos on our site) but clearly we somehow didn't get it right this time. Please accept our apologies.

Its important to us that we convey the accommodation choices accurately to our guests so they can choose the right one for their needs. As you say, there was plenty of other accommodation available at the same price that suited your needs better. Its a real shame because it impacts on the rest of your holiday.

The good news is that we have ordered 13 new cabins which are really spacious and are designed to replace and compliment the older style cabins. They will be available in the next 2 months and will be priced at a similar level to the Cosy Cabins in which you stayed.

Hopefully you will stay with us again sometime and we will be able to match your needs perfectly and ensure you have a great holiday.

Finally a quick apology for the rainy weather during your stay. A few bad days of heavy rain really take the shine off any holiday. Sun next time - we promise!

Broke down one night, luckily next to this place. Easy and efficient late night service, great motel room with everything you could want. Didn't even get a chance to look at the holiday park as I was off the next morning but it looked and sounded great. Room was all clean and everything worked! Good spot to know in a pinch.

When it comes to holiday parks, this is a great experience for young and old with super modern facilities and extremely friendly and efficient staff.

On the negative side, it must be said ancillary prices for extras, such as food snacks from vending machines, food from the poolside "Nibbles" cafe are expensive and would burden any family with children. Also charges for the use of the washing machines, ($5.00 cold, $6.00 warm and $7.00 hot) are ridiculously expensive, especially when most other parks have charges of between $4.00 and $5.00. The washing machines and dryers are all near new but fail dismally on the wash results.

Highlights are the Sunday morning pancakes (very delicious) and the Tuesday evening sausage sizzle at the camp kitchen with both events totally free of charge.

The toilet and shower block is virtually brand new with no shortage of hot water or privacy. A spectacular tropical fish display adorns the entrance.

Prices of $41.00 per night for powered tent sites is on the expensive side even after the 'Stay 7 days, pay for 6' promo plus the 10% discount for Big4 members ($50.00 a year).

All in all a very pleasant holiday destination, close to all the Gold Coast theme parks and Westfield Helensvale Town Centre.

Highly recommended!

Hi David,

Thanks for the very comprehensive review. We very much appreciate the feedback - it gives us the opportunity to review what we do and hopefully provide a better holiday for our guests.

Your high rating was very much appreciated considering we let you down on a number of fronts. Thank you .

In relation to our laundry prices, we have taken a snap poll of parks in the area to see if we have missed the mark on our prices. It seems we are pretty much 'on par' with other parks and laundromats in the area. That being said, we will take your comments on board and look a bit further afield to see that we are not overpriced.

We were most disheartened to hear that you were not satisfied with the quality of the washes you received. In response we have called the service company to come and see if any of the machines are under performing. As all our machines are very new, you are certainly entitled to expect a fantastic wash every time. Please accept our apologies.

Your comment on the vending machine is well noted. The convenience of having such a machine has to be balanced by the 'pester power' that kids apply to mum and dad when they are holidays. Funnily enough, when we have mentioned in the past that we might send it away there has been a near revolt! Maybe we could position it elsewhere in the park...all food for thought.

David, thanks also for your generous comments on the free pancakes, the free sausage sizzle and the quality of our fabulous new amenities block. All very much appreciated.

We will take all your comments on board and certainly make good use of them as we try to improve the value and service we provide.

We look forward to welcoming you again soon. Safe travels until then :)

We stayed here for a week from 7th feb in a luxury villa, and from the time we entered reception I knew we had chosen the right place to stay. Staff were very friendly and made us feel right at home. Villa was lovely with a beautiful deck and modern decor. And what can I say about the pool area! Our 5 year old practically lived on the pool the entire time we were there! It was absolutely beautiful, with lovely sun lounges and a licensed cafe right beside the pool. In such close proximity to the theme parks this place was such a fantastic choice for us. Very family friendly, we will definately be rebooking for next year.

We love this place. Second visit. It was just one night in the motel room and it just has everything. The pool was as lovely as ever and the cafe by the pool is so handy if you don't want to go anywhere. We has flown all day and exhausted so we got an early dinner and bed. We slept so well and went for a walk around the park before heading off. We will use the park for future visits with the camper trailer and 3 year old.

We've been here a couple of times now, as we pass through GC. It is by far, the best, tourist holiday, caravan, park or whatever you want to call this place, that we've been to.It's a resort without the resort prices.Huge bonus!!! We don't have kids but it's a pleasure watching them having fun in the pool, cause they don't bother you. The pool has a centre current that you can swim against and do laps without actually going anywhere. Great for exercise! They have a tube in it for the kids, which doesn't interfere with swimming.Great idea! Its open long hours, which is great in this warm climate.Something all Queensland parks should do! To top it off there are lounges & shade all along and areas where you can eat a bbq or meal. Then have a spa, yep this place has everything. Having said that there is also a café here in the pool area, and it's great also. I have nothing negative to say about this park except maybe for sticky beak permanents, who'll complain about everything and anything, ignore those.Maybe they don't like dogs???You get that anywhere. I love it here, I feel as though I'm in Bali at potato head rather than in Helensvale. The amenities are by far the cleanest and best I have seen too. A fish aquamarine on entrance, with beautiful "chillout" music playing...cracked me up and its wonderful. with plenty of toilets & showers. There are a coiuple of levels here and can accommodate big rigs as well as dog friendly!!!!! It is security gated as well and a tennis court.Cannot speak highly enough of this place. It's a winner!!!!

Room Tip: I don't stay in rooms as we have a big rig, but I'm sure they're fine too.
