Description: The location of the restaurant is one of the most spectacular you'll find anywhere. It is right at water level and looks out to the glory of Desolation Sound. From the large patio, you can frequently see eagles soaring. The menu is local seafood, fresh vegetables and daily specials. There are home made desserts .The Cove is licensed to serve alcohol, so you can enjoy a bottle of wine with your meal, a glass of draft beer, or sip on one of our many cocktails or martini's. You will be delighted with the choices of expertly prepared food served with grace and friendliness.

“Watch Your Step!”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

I didn't get to try the food because I was too shaken up after falling down the two steps from the front door to the dining area. Three employees came over to ask if I was OK and one of them said, "That's always happening. Maybe we should paint them (the steps) bright yellow or something." How about putting up a warning sign before you get sued.

“A diamond in the rough, surprizingly fabulous!”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

It's in a remote location, but right on the water in Squirrel Cove. If you are boating up in Desolation Sound this is a great landing to load up on provisions. They have ice cream cones at the general store and a good marine hardware store. The restaurant is wonderful. Very laid back but amazing service. We were treated like gold. One of my favourite things is the Deep Fried Dill Pickles and the Prawn Fritters. Both delicious. The lunch menu is filled with great options, wraps, burgers, halibut, fish & chips, Flat bread pizza, Pulled Pork, Pasta changes everyday, when I was there it was Pad Thai with fresh prawns, yummy. Great Artichoke and Hummus plate. Dinner has even more dishes, including the Blue Tortilla Enchilada and braised Lamb. They serve cocktails, cold beer and have a good wine list. Enjoy!

“Wonderful place to dine!”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

There are only a few places to eat on Cortes Island and we tried 2. The Cove was wonderful. The lamb shank is the best we have ever had and it had loads of meat on it that just fell off the bone. Would have preferred to see some shellfish on the menu as it is Cortes but it was a unique menu anyway. Socraties, our server was fantastic. We waited for nothing. Socraties, (and I apologize to you now if the spelling of your name is incorrect,) I have one word for you..........
HAPPINESS! (he will understand ) we will be back.

“Too good to be true.”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

This is an amazing restaurant that specializes in local seafood dishes created by an "international chef" who has chosen to live on Cortes Island as a life-style choice. Not much ambiance and decor but the patio seating on the deck overlooking the entrance to squirrel Cove makes up for it
The service is usually slow as the staff is rushed off their feet but the pricing makes up for it as shockingly inexpensive.
