One of the most natural links courses in Ireland with stunning views of the Gweebara Bay and a unrivalled hole variety. Considered by Philip Reid as one of the "great eight" courses of Ireland it is a course that every golfer should play at least once.Visitors are welcome to play the course and avail of the bar/resturant facilities in the newly renovated clubhouse which all combine to create a truely memorable day.

“natural hidden gem”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

Played the course in Mid December 2013 strangely dry and windless conditions. Greens were amazing especially at this time of year. Course in great condition.

Have played many times in summer and course is a lot more difficult with fast undulating greens.
Views to die for especially walking down 8th toward the green/sea and on the 8th and 15th tees.
Food in clubhouse was excellent although very busy at night during summer months. Service always good in my experience. Best Guinness in Donegal.
Well stocked Pro-shop and new buggies.

“Terrific course”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

This is a wonderful example of a natural links course. It is in superb condition and enjoyable for all handicaps except perhaps a total beginner. We had a most enjoyable round of golf on this lovely designed true links course

“Great Golf and Scenery”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

By all means take the time to play this links course. After the opening hole the course becomes very challenging with many outstanding holes and scenic views. Enjoy the 3 back-to-back-to-back par 5s on the back 9. Very friendly local members, golf staff, and bar/restaurant. Very good value for the money.

“Great golf club, but a little pricy!”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Great links golf course. If you want to play one round you should have some time left to spare, but very friendly and they can also provide left handed clubs, if you ask one day in advance.

“Narin & Portnoo Golf Club - a true golf links!”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

I had the pleasure of playing Narin & Portnoo earlier this summer and what a magnificent golf links it is!
A friend of mine from Edinburgh heard that I was going to Donegal for a trip and told me I simply had to go and play this course.
From the moment I arrived I received a very friendly welcome from Daragh in Pro-Shop who set me up and gave me some useful tips and advise for playing the course.
It is a spectacular course, particularly from the par 3 7th onwards, and the view of the bay and the island and of Portnoo Pier as you walk from the 14th green through to the 15th tee is something that I will never forget.
The par 4 9th is the best hole on the course, but the short par 3 16th - The High Altar was my favourite - one of the most natural par 3s I have seen.
I would definitely recommend playing this course if you are ever in Donegal, its worth the trip. Oh, and they serve a very creamy pint of Guinness at the Club House bar also!!
