We stayed two nights in the Ballyliffin Lodge. We had the special offer: 2 night BB and 2 rounds of golf at the Ballyliffin golfclub. A very good Value for the price. Nice rooms nice people , good live music in the pub. We loved to stay there.

Stayed at the Hotel with a party of colleagues. Staff were great, particularly Lisa on reception who was extra helpful, and food was top notch.
Rooms were large with free internet, spa and pool excellent and discounts available on the nearby championship golf course.
Ample parking, superb views, lots of beaches, walks and tourist attractions nearby.

We stayed here recently with our son who's a toddler on the 2BB and 1 dinner deal with an upgrade to the Holly tree restaurant, as we wanted at least one nice meal, and booked a babysitter(€12.50/hr) accordingly. It was only when we went for our meal that we were told that the restaurant was closed and that we had to eat in the bar instead. As it turned out, we didn't miss much as the HT and bar menu's were essentially the same anyway. In fairness, the hotel was very quiet, so we would have been the only people in the restaurant, but we should have been told beforehand as we would not have bothered with the babysitter. The bar food was typical pub grub, perfectly acceptable as pub grub goes, but hardly fine dining as others have implied.
We got one of the superior rooms overlooking the bay and it was huge, perfect when you have a toddler running amuck. Definitely worth getting one of these as the view out to the side and back of the service yard would be a bit depressing.
One thing that bugged me is not having any newspapers or magazines to browse in the residents lounge.

I have recently vistied the Ballyliffin lodge for a conference and i have to say it was lovely the hotel is situated in a lovely part of Co Donegal and there is a beautiful beach within walking distance. The service in the hotel was amazing and the food faultless, the room were will sized and spotless, i also had the great pleasure if using the spa and it was amazing. In the evening the hotel had not bother in faciliating 40 guess. i would totally recommend this hotel for conferences and breaks.

My husband and I spent our anniversary at Ballyliffin Lodge on the B&B plus 1 Dinner in Mamie Pats. The Executive Room was beautiful and the jacuzzi was fabulous with lovely sea views. During our meal at Mamie Pats I found a hair in my spring roll and my rib eye beef came served with tin foil. Both our dishes were tasteless. Made waiter aware of additional items issue immediately and the front desk manager (Flo) at earliest opportunity . Front Desk Manager never made any attempt whatsoever to make amends despite being reminded again on check out. Very disappointing customer service in resolving food issue but beautiful hotel in a remote location ideal for couples.

My sister had her wedding reception at the Ballyliffin lodge over the Easter. The hotel venue is outstanding and the views from the drawing room are to die for. When we arrived to the hotel the hotel management greeted us at the door and directed all guests to the pre reception room. The function room decor is so plush and the food was fantastic. This hotel would have to be rated the best venue in the Donegal.

My wife and i and another couple travelled to the Ballyliffin Lodge on our motorcyles in March 2010. On our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to see how nice the decor was in the reception area. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very well presented and very comfortable, it had a very large balcony with a sea view to die for!!!
The food in the bar was absolutely gorgeous, as was the breakfast the following morning.
We took full advantage of the very well run pool and gym facilties which were also TOP CLASS!.......All in all a very pleasant experience, needless to say....... we will be back.
