Stayed there for 2 nights in August 2013 rooms were clean and tidy and the staff where both accommodating and friendly, The food we had for the evening meal was fantastic (great steaks). Very close to nice beaches, walks and of course a top top golf course.

Looking forward to returning next year.

We went here for an evening meal with the kids and the place had a nice bustling atmosphere with lots of families dining out on this particular Saturday evening. Very family orientated and they even have a kids section with video games and toys for the kids to play.

The food was nice but a little on the pricey side. An 8oz fillet steak was €27 which came only with a choice of potatoes. No sauteed onions/mushrooms or fries- as all of these were charged separately. A little too 2007 for me! I know of nowhere closer to home where you are charged extra for these. The fillet steak itself was ok- but just ok- wouldn't be rushing back for more. Service was slow and a little inattentive- with waitresses forgetting to bring side orders and drinks etc- having to be reminded on more than one occasion!

Kids menu was varied and had some good honest food for those kids who like to eat more than just nuggets and chips- with our two having the pasta bolognese and finishing every bit!

All in all a decent place but need to offer a little bit more value for money for me.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your recent review. Thank you for your compliments on our hotel and food. I am sorry if the service was slow, Saturday evenings are particularly busy in the hotel but that is no excuse for inattentiveness. I take on board your comments on our prices, but fillet steak is the most expensive choice on our menu, we offer fantastic value in Jacks Restaurant with three courses for €25 and in the bar we have a three course menu available for €18. I will share your comments with the food and beverage team and I hope to welcome you and your family back again soon. Best Regards.

Great hotel for a weekend away.Excellent pit stop or base to do a round trip of the Inishowen Peninsula.
The rooms are very big and tastefully decorated, with big cosy sofas in the lobby.
The staff were lovely and helpful at all times.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

we have just returned from the lodge today - 3 night stay, 2 small kids, family room

Food - ,v good, really enjoyed the three course meal in the restaurant, ate in the bar the other two nights, was v good standard.the kids meals enough to share between two small children plus get ice cream after, the kids play area great for kids to go play after dinner.

Pool - was warm and clean, kids really enjoyed, separate kids pool, sauna and steam room good too.

staff - v friendly and happy to help, the receptionist was very nice on arrival

room - had a family room, was spacious, double bed, single bed and we requested a cot, was plenty of space for us all, bathroom was ok

hotel grounds - do not be deceived by the hotel photos, there are very little grounds to this hotel, from photos it looks like there is grass etc, but there are only car park spaces and space for sitting outside, we thought from the photos there was grass etc but this is actually the private house beside the hotel. inside the hotel is very nice

kids - think excellent hotel for kids, very child friendly, kids club looked good too.

Things to do - there is a park at the beach, turn left at the hotel, about a 15 min walk, beach nice there too, glenvin waterfall lovely. Nancy's Barn was nice for lunch, just on the corner opposite the hotel

centra in clomany and a supervalu in carndonagh

overall - very good stay and the kids loved it

We recently got married and our reception was held in the Lodge. We were firstly looked after extremely well by the hotel wedding co ordinator Breda Mc Gonigle, who took care of our every need!! The hotel staff were excellent on the day and were very helpful throughout the day. The food was first class, the setting was beautiful and the bridal suite was great. We were delighted with the overall package with the hotel. Truly a great place to get Married, A Day never to forget!!!
