My wife and I recently attended a wedding in the Donegal area. We stayed in the Ballyliffin Lodge where the wedding reception took place. From arrival we were made welcome by the friendly staff. The rooms were comfortable and clean with coffee making facilities.. First night we eat in the bar where the food was delicious and plenty of choice. Breakfast in the morning was just as good. The wedding reception the following day was just perfect, the food was fresh and hot and very tasty considering the numbers catered for.
The hotel have special deals on at various times during the year, the next one appears I will be booking.

Room Tip: Try and get the rooms at the front with the balcony, beautiful views

Booked the ballyliffin hotel and spa through a group on deal.
Stayed on February 2013 for a two night stay.
We brought our 9 year old daughter and we were able to add her to the booking for €25 per night.
As it was my wife's birthday we upgraded to a bigger room which wad extremely spacious with 2 sofas which turned into beds ( which my daughter loved).
Everyone was extremely helpful anf friendly. We had the Sunday carvery which was average but all the other meals we had were of the highest standard.
If your looking to relax and chill out this is definitely the place.
Ballyliffin has little to do which suited us fine.
Lovely beach to walk along with a park of the kids.
Would like to return at a later date.

I was in the Ballyliffin Lodge & Spa hotel last weekend at a relations wedding. I was very impressed with the overall hotel. The rooms were excellent, clean & tidy. Food at the wedding reception was very nice, quality food & lot of it. We got a very good room rate as part of the wedding guest list, but generally their rate are very competitive.
A small negative was that we could not use the leisure area after we had checked out. This was a pity as we didn't get a chance to use it, due the the wedding. The last few placed I have stayed have offer the leisure centre after the check out time. Beside this, I would definitely stay there again if I was in the area.

Great spot, early feb and weather outside was wild. Loved it. Waves were unbelievably high. Spa was relaxing and pool was crystal clear. Menu selection was powerful and yummy. Catered well for kids although we had none. Staff were very friendly and always on hand. We upgraded the room to a sea view and had a gorgeous super-king sized bed. Would love to go again, maybe later this year..

Room Tip: Pay for upgrade! Worth it..

The Ballyliffin lodge has to be one of the friendliest, cleanest and enjoyable hotels I've stayed in. Took my mum away for a couple of days to relax on a groupon deal and we were blown away by the high standards. Staff were professional, polite and couldn't do enough for you. Food was outstanding and very reasonably priced, also excellent breakfast options provided. Spa facilities were tranquil and relaxing and the whole hotel was so clean and well kept. Outstanding views needless to say of the beach which is only a 10/15 min walk. Certainly the place to go if you want to unwind and take in the scenery. Overall 10 out of 10 and will be back!

Both my wife and myself enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We found all staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our meal in Jack's bar together with excellent service from the waitress. We also spent a couple of hours between the fantastic swimming pool, steam room and the sauna. The choice of breakfast was excellent. We will go back to the hotel sometime in the future and would recommend it to anyone.
