We required a wheelchair accessible room. Only minor fault was lack of space between bed & bathroom door, but this was sorted immediately.
Food was v good.
Staff were excellent, especially Angosh,
Very good customer service was shown to us.

Ballyliffin itself & the beach are both lovely - would definately return!

My husband and myself enjoyed a lovely weekend in the Strand Hotel in Ballyliffin. After a shaky start which the manager dealt with in a prompt and friendly way we were in a beautiful room with a view of the sea. Staff in the hotel are friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The owner himself is a lovely gentleman and the craic with Andy the manager on Saturday night was powerful!
Breakfasts at the Strand are spot on and the meals we had in the dining room were very good also - their homemade ice-cream is to die for!
Local attractions such as the Famine Village are well worth a visit and the views from Malin Head spectactular!!
Overall a brilliant weekend and cant wait to return!!!

we stayed one Sunday night the staff where friendly and efficient we had one course off the set menu and one course is all you will need I am sure the chef's scales where not working as my husband's steak was certainly more than the started 10 oz I was unable to finish the chicken which was upsetting as it was all delicious These where served with side orders of chips mash carrots and cabbage. So if you are going to eat please go hungry Highly recommended As we had eaten so much the night before we were unable to do the breakfast justice but it was very good

My husband and I have just come back from our stay at this hotel and found it to have very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble for them
On arrival we were directed to our room which was very clean and spacious. The room was overlooking the front of the building but we had no trouble with noise from the road. We ate at the hotel and I can say the food was excellent, great quality produce, well cooked and presented.
There was a good selection of local information available in leaflet form and also from the staff.
Tha village itself is very small however the walk along the beach and the golf courses make a trip here very worthwhile.
We participated in the quiz night and found all the locals who attended to be as friendy and welcoming as the staff.
This was a relaxing break for us and we will visit again. The Strand Hotel offers its customers good value for money and is an asset to the tourist trade in Ballyliffin.

We had a weekend break here last week and it was lovely. When we arrived we were allocated a nice room but as it didn't have a bath we asked for another and were accommodated immediately. The room was spacious and very clean. The staff were courteous and friendly. Later when we went for dinner the dining room was noisy and full with people from a bus tour, so we decided to eat in the bar but the head waiter in the restaurant came looking for us and promised us a secluded table - which we got. He escorted us to our table carrying our wine. He as very attentive throughout the meal and even asked us if we would like some more to eat! The meal was lovely and plentiful so we declined but my husband and I were in shock as we had never been offered more food in any other restaurant we have eaten in. After the meal, once again, the head waiter carried our drinks to the bar and found us a seat. He was really very attentive. The breakfast was lovely and once again we were served promptly. It poured that day and we got soaked when out on a walk so decided to go back to the hotel. We had to go to the lobby to get the internet as it was impossible in our room. This would be our only complaint as it did say in the room description that internet was available in the rooms. This didn't bother us as the lobby was lovely. The chef even made us fresh chips while we browsed. We ordered chips but noticed at our meal the night before that the chips were frozen so asked could we have fresh - this was no trouble. On checking out the male receptionist offered us tea or coffee before we left and then offered an umbrella to get us to our car as it was still raining. This hotel was lovely to stay in. Nothing was any bother to the staff and they were always friendly and courteous. We would definitely stay here again.
