“Loud and noisy”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

This is not the place to go and relax. The accomodation was below average. It needs major upgrading in the kitchen and bathroom. Mismatched cockery, broken shower head, low water pressure, blocked drain.
The security does not do regular patrols to keep unruly guests in line. Music was loud till pass 11.

We spent 10 days there in the Slanghoek Villa's. The Villa's are beautiful with 3 bedrooms, each with it's own balcony and a wonderful view. The only drawback was that the unit did not have a oven. We went into town and bought a huge black pot that we used on the fire as an oven. We spent every day in the Slanghoek Villa's pool and every evening in the indoor heated pool. My adult children could do horse riding closeby. All in all a lovely holiday!

Room Tip: Go for the Slanghoek Villa's

Visited from 5-7 April 2013 with wife and 3 kids (2, 6 and 9) and stayed in the rondawels (luxury upgraded according to spa staff). The accommodation was nothing spectacular but was clean. They could do with replacing the plastic chairs in 'lounge' area and the shower floor in bathroom. My wife did not like the fact that the single beds were in the 'kitchen' area but they were very comforatble. The biggest attractions are undoubtably the pools (one hot for morning and night-time bathing until 23h00; the other bigger one with luke warm water); my 2 older kids would not do anything else but swim. it was safe enough to let them go on their own. the grounds are beautifully green and kept; tennis courts and mini-golf needs some attention. we loved that we could walk around the resort as a family (kids moaned but it was fun). other guests were friendly. as it was holiday, guests were entertained with water aerobics, various games, a dvd and karaoke evning around heated pool - this was great. Staff were generally friendly. only hick-ups were that when we arrived at rondawels at 2pm staff were still busy cleaning. There were many flies (who stayed the weekend) inside the rondawel (actually throughout the resort), upon asking one of the cleaning ladies for some insect killer, she said she had none and headed off to look for some. I saw her speaking to another lady (whom I presumed was in-charge of the cleaning staff) and returned to tell me that she had been informed that I needed to provide my own insect killer. I understood that but just wanted her to spray once before we actually occupied the rondawel; had no intention of keeping it the entire time. Overall it was we had a good time, the kids are eager toreturn as soon as possible. perhaps we will try other accommodation at the resort in the future. the overall atmosphere at the resort was also very pleasant. will probably return.

Room Tip: The houses and flats/apartments are perhaps better options than the rondawels. the villas look great...

The Slanghoek Villas are at the top of the resort and secured as a separate node. The Villas are in excellent condition, newly built and are well appointed. they have under cover patios with built in Braai's (BBQ) and awesome views over the valley.

There is a hot spring dedicated to the Slanghoek Villas which is secluded and not used by day visitors.

There is an on site shop which stocks supplies.

Just outside of the resort is a restaurant called the dam fine cafe. It does not look appealing, however the food is excellent, we ate there three times and was pleasantly surprised each time. Service and prices are good too.

We stayed here only for one night.Being only 2 adults the price tag on the better accommodation(Slanghoek) was too much for us(also the units accommodate 6 to 8 people!)So we took a rondawel-horrible!!Everything was run down and looked over used and in great need of a refurbishment-so we returned to the Reception where they would not return our money-we had to chose something else.So we went to see the Boland huisies.A bit better and newer but they also had seen better days. These cottages sleep 6 to 8 also and we had to pay more than a R1000.00 for them. The hot water in the pools was nice though and I can imagine a family spending a nice weekend or holiday here. But it was not for us...better accommodation for 2 people at R1000.00 is easy to find!

I took my son to Goudini Spa during the school holidays and we had a ball! They have so much for kids and adults to do. There were daily activities arranged around the pool and plenty of space everywhere. The resort was completely fully booked but we never had to queue or wait. The grounds were clean and well kept and the variety of accommodation from camping to bungalows to 4 star villas means everyone can afford a few days there. The shop is well-equiopped and the pools are HOT and clean.

All in in a really excellent way to unwind with the kids!

I recently returned from a family wekend away at Slanghoek Villas at Goudini Spa. I was very pleasantly surprised by all that is offered there. Goudini is a very big resort with accommodation and facilities ranging from camping and rondawels right up to their 4 star Slanghoek Villas.

Once you are inside the main gate of the Goudini Resort, you keep driving right up the mountain past all the rondawels, chalets, shops, pools etc and you get to a boom with a security man. Slanghoek Villas is only accessible to residents and has fabulous views of the valleys and vineyards of Rawsonville. It is very quiet and peaceful up there.

The Villas sleep 6 people and are fully equipped with bedding & towels as well as tea / coffee / sugar. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the villas are fully serviced each day.

Slanghoek Villas has its own swimming pool and conference centre with bar, registration area and large balcony with sweeping views.

Probably the best part about being at Slanghoek is that while your area is totally private and for residents only, you are wlecome to use the rest of the resort. We spent lots of time down at the main pools where there are water slides, restaurants, a shop, putt-puut, trampolines etc but when we wanted peace and quiet, we strolled back up the hill to the serenity of our villa.

Slanghoek is ideal for a conference. It is a very easy 90 minute drive from Cape Town and the conferencing facilities are excellent. The accommodation is great and there is plenty to keep delegates busy after conference hours as the hot pools are open until 22h00 each night. There are 30 villas in total and each villa has 3 bedrooms.
