Great view at the Buddha’s place
The Buddha is worth to visit
However there is still a lot of construction going on so don’t expect too much at the area around

Big buddha is a monument statue, had i not known that the biggest was in china, i may have concluded that this is the biggest buddha statue.
But the main attraction is the beautiful view from the site.

Although there is quite a bit of construction going on, the visit to Big Budha was definitely worth the time. The grounds are beautiful and the views breathtaking. We enjoyed leaving our mark by purchasing marble tiles that would be used as part of the construction.

Unfortunatley we did not get to enter the Big Buddha as when we checked online it showed the closing time as 7.30pm. Due to heavy traffic we arrived at 6.45ish to be greeted by a very rude security man who was closing and clearly wanted to go home,he was very rude and kept demanding we leave. I am absolutely devastated that we could not go in, even though we thought we still had time, however the Big Buddha is still beautiful from the outside and I'm sure the inside would also be spectacular. This can be seen from a great distance so keep an eye out for this beautiful piece if you are staying in phuket.

Besides beach, booze, food and nightlife, this is one of the must visit places in Phuket. The view from the hill is beautiful.

Beautiful place with great view points and monkeys around :) We have looked for every option to get there, but the cheapest way for us was to take PRIVATE TAXI from this kindly guy. 20km way with 2 person and big backpacks in new Honda car for only 500 THB. Mr. Supparerk (nan) Matchawet MOBILE: 086-8382362 We were so happy because very kindly service door to door! Recommended!

This place seems to be for marketing and merchandise place instead of the place for Buddhism to pray.
However the place has nice view look over to the Chalong bay

The pictures do this no justice. It is an amazing statue with a great view. There is even a place to take pictures of the wild monkeys. A must see if you are in Phuket Thailand.

When transiting from the Phuket International airport to our hotel it was hard not to notice the Big Budda perched high above the landscape.

When we visited the buddist monks, donned in their orange robes, were holding a ceremony. The ceremony reverent yet uplifting.

The views from the Big Budda were breathtaking. We were told the constuction of Big Budda started following the devastation of a sunami which hit Phuket. A protector of the people and their homes against any potential future harm.

Off to one side of the courtyard you could buy a white marble tile, sign your name/s to it, and return it to the seller so it may be layed in the continuing construction of the Big Biudda. I was touched that our tile was earmarked for positioning inside Budda.
