Stayed in Clonmore Lodge B & B this weekend as we were attending a wedding in Quilty Church. Lovely relaxing place to stay with a genuine warm welcome. Marvellous breakfasts with home made scones , brown bread and pancakes ! Wonderful bonus with a historical tour of the area with John on Sunday morning ! David & Jean O'Driscoll.

We stayed at the Clonmore our first night in Ireland. It is in a quaint village on the West Coast which we wanted to explore. The village is a little like stepping back in time, with the fields and historical ruins all around the area. You could see the coastline from our room. The host was very pleasant and friendly and we enjoyed our stay there.

I stayed in the Clonmore Lodge after a recommendation from another B&B. got a lovely warm welcome. Really nice old world charm, exactly what i would expect from a B&B in this beautiful part of the world, fitted the scene perfectly. My 5 year old daughter loved it and spoke about it again a few days later, so it obviously left an impression with her. Good traditional breakfast with homemade brown and white scones and topped off with beautifully made homemade jams and butter rolled with traditional butter paddles, served in Nicholas Mosse pottery. I left very impressed with the old world charm of the place. the place is not full of mod cons, t.v had little reception but i was there to see the area so not really a negative for me.

I was just browsing on the net and came across Clonmore lodge and it brings me back in time. We stayed here about twenty years ago and my three children all in their twenties now always say it was their best holiday ever. It was a farmhouse holiday and we had breakfast and evening meal and the food was superb, also the tea and scones during the day ,yum, yum. We met so many families there and everyone got along so well. The pub beside the house was great fun and the pony rides for the children and the trip for them on the tractor . My youngest son now 25 remembers collecting the eggs every morning and boiling some for his breakfast. Hubby and I have being travelling abroad for our hols this last few years but i think we will have to return soon to Clonmore Lodge. Hi to all there.

Wish we could have stayed more than one day. The hospitality was wonderful, breakfast delicious. Went to Lynch's Bar in Milltown Malbay a short distance away to listen to traditional Irish music. Very friendly bar! LOVED the archaeological tour given by John the next morning. It was so informative! Even found the Shannon crest on several gravestones.

We spent 10 days at the Clonmore Lodge while attending the Willy Clancy Summer School and had a delightful visit.

The B&B is located on a working farm in a 400 year old farmhouse which was converted into an inn 30+/- years ago. In terms of luxury, we have stayed in far fancier places; but in terms of overall hospitality, Clonmore Lodge ranks among the most enjoyable B&B's we've ever visited.

The B&B is just located just south of Quilty (a 10-15 minute drive into Miltown Malbay). Upon arrival, we were welcomed by our host Maire Daly with tea & coffee, given some tips on finding our way around, etc. During our stay we visited regularly with Maire and her husband John and they provided us with endless advice on seeing all the sights in West Clare. On cool evenings they had a fire going in the fireplace, and at most times at least one of them was around to offer advice or conversation.

John escorted a group of guests to the nearby church ruins and graveyard for a detailed history lesson of the area, a knowledgeable and interesting explanation of the inscriptions and carvings on the stones, etc. The inn has an 18-hole "crazy golf" course in the back (think stone and brick, not windmills and flashing lights!) which our 10 year old son enjoyed immensely - he played nearly every day. He also enjoyed feeding carrots to the Daly's horse who he named Mister Ed. There is also a tennis court on the property.

Breakfasts were simple: well-prepared and nicely presented with generous portions. Fresh bread and scones, cereal, yogurt, choice of eggs or omeletes, tea/coffee, bacon, sausage, etc. Maire made the mistake of offering our son seconds one morning, and from then on he ate a small mountain of scrambled eggs every day!

Our room was more like a guest room in someone's home than a hotel/motel room. Again, nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable.

Clonmore Lodge is located in a rural setting, so aside from tractors you won't hear much traffic noise. You should also count on driving if you plan on going into town. There is a small pub a few hundred yards down the road. After the initial quiet moment which occurs whenever a stranger walks into a local (meaning non-touristy) bar we were warmly welcomed there.

We traveled with friends who stayed in a newly constructed, purpose-built B&B near Spanish Point. Their place had all the character of a Hampton Inn (although I envied their modern shower), and their hostess was unfriendly (if not rude). On the other hand, I felt as if we were staying with family.

We will definitely stay at the Clonmore Lodge again for our next trip to Willy Clancy Summer School.
