We spent 3 nights in the hotel last September 2011, and having stayed in the hotel in previous years I was not looking forward to my stay when I booked I told the receptionest of the problems we had in the past and I had read the terrible reviews on the web page. I have to say Our stay was a pleasure we were given a nice clean room on the first floor the breakfast was very good and plenty of choice and we eat in the bar the three evenings friends & family joined us every one enjoyed their meals, can I say all members of staff were pleasant and more than helpfull if we do return to Bailieborough this summer we will be more than happy to book in to TheBailie Thank You M M Brady.

I stayed in the Bailie Hotel while working in the area. I found the staff to be very friendly, helpful and professional from the moment I arrived to the time I left. The single room I was in was spotlessly clean and warm with a very comfortable bed. I ate in the bar, my evening meal was first rate and I would recommend the sirloin steak!!!! I would also recommend a pint or two of the black stuff, the guinness was superb, nectar from the gods!! The full Irish breakfast really set me up for the day ahead. I would definitely recommend the Bailie Hotel to anyone and would suggest that for taste and value they have a meal there!!!! I will stay there any time I am back in the area,

I had travelled all the way from New York to attend a funeral in Bailebourgh Cavan. As others have stated in previous reviews the Baile is the only Hotel in Bailebourgh so it was there I stayed. Having travelled over night I was exhausted and rather dreading the thought of the Hotel after reading previous reviews about the "smell of bathroom that greeted you at reception and cold, dirty rooms etc." I have to say my experience was excellent. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly helpful receptionist. There were two of us so we booked two single rooms. The rooms are small the door actually hit the bed in my room but I was only going to be sleeping there so that didn't matter to me. The bathroom was spotless and there was fresh clean bedding and a kettle to make tea or coffee. There was also a small TV. When I entered the room it was very cold. So I just went down to reception and asked for an extra blanket as the room was cold. The receptionist explained that the heat probably hadn't come on yet as it's on timers (why heat an unoccupied room I suppose) she said she'd go up to my room and turn on the heat and leave it on. When I returned to my room later on that evening it was lovely and warm. The food in the Hotel is great and the bar is a nice size with friendly staff. There was a band playing the Saturday night I was there and there was no cover charge. In the morning there was a large full Irish Breakfast that I thought was gorgeous, not at all greasy as someone in an earlier review wrote. So all in all the food was great, the service was great the rooms were great and the price was great. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Both myself and the person with me were happy customers. My one tip if staying in this hotel would be to get a room on or near the top floor - it was quiet.
