Many of the original beams are used in the support structures and in the front public bar where the counter dates back before the 1970's. There are many unique displays scattered throughout the property including a letter sent from a passenger on board the titanic the day of its first and only sailing. There is General Tom Thumb's Jacket, The football & tickets used in Croke Park on Bloody Sunday in 1928 along with many other sporting memorabilia and genuinely traditional Irish pieces. This property is one of Irelands most famous eateries known all over the land for its ability to cater for all tastes and pockets it has Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner available all day every day. The large open plan Kitchen adds to the atmosphere and theatre of the property. Catering for large crowds on busy days is part and parcel of what makes The Poitin unique. There is something for everyone from quick lunches in the Bar & Lounge to full evening meals in the 150 seat restaurant The Poitin Stil is famous for the fact that at any time of the day you can get a hot meal in great surrounds at great value. Traditional Hospitality abounds at An Poitin Stil with entertainment 4 nights a week with a large dash of traditional music. “Great”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

Stopped here for our dinner on a Sunday recently. The carvery was very busy, and there was a great variety of food. We got ours quickly, the staff behind the counter were very friendly and efficient. No problem getting seats. The food was really tasty, there was plenty of it, and the staff friendly and helpful. The pub was very clean, nd it was good value for money. Highly recommended!

“Friendly staff and an Excellent Carvery Meal”
Reviewed August 5, 2014 via mobile

We recently stopped off here on the way back from an afternoon shopping in Kildare Village. We were tired and very hungry and from the moment we arrived to the moment we left this place ticked all the boxes for us as a family. The staff were very friendly and helpful carrying my tray from the carvery to the table and chef accommodate us with our kids meal request. The Carvery was a well run operation with the food nice and hot and very tasty and a good portion. We're already looking forward to stopping off here again and might try the restaurant next time.

“Average food, average experience”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

The menu looked inviting but the restaurant was closed the evening we arrived. We went into the bar where seating was scarce. Our server was using a new hand held device for entering orders but she handled it well. It was a long time for our food to arrive but everyone's was hot and fresh so we knew it was the result of the large number pf patrons.

The food was average, portions a little small but ok.

Nothing special but you'll do fine here.

“KIndness and great food!”
Reviewed July 21, 2014

Really excellent! My mother was there as part of a Cuilcagh Tour group (Annmarie Carolan) and was sooooo impressed at how she was fed and looked after. Food and service exceeded all expectations. Particular thanks to Conor Tiernan for his kindness and compliments to the chef Brian Cahill. Louis you have great staff and provide a great stopping off place! Thank you all.
