“Needs some improvement”

I did like the Marble factory but would have loved to learn more about the history of how they started and how the marble was made and also shown how they did the core process.

“Marble shop”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

Lots of marble items to chose from but no interpretation or tour. Very pricey. Rather hard to locate.

“interesting marble mined locally”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

Rocks from 200 - 500 Million years ago are mined locally by one family who for generations had worked on making the rocks into different ornate materials for decorative or jewelry or building material for local and worldwide distribution.
Since the rights to mine and the factory is ran exclusively by a few of the family members for generations anything purchased is guaranteed and VAT/fexco free although the prices are not cheap.

They must have a lot of American customers since a lot of their stones are used in many places in the USA as mentioned by the lecturer - they even fly the US flag in front of their store.

“Great place to pick up souvenires”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

Very interesting tour of the small factory where jewelry and small items are made. Well worth the stop to pick up lovely, small gifts to take home. It's small and lots of tour buses come by, but if you're in the area, it's worth going in.

“Great find!”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

We enjoyed our visit here- lots of marble items- and it was interesting to see where some of the marble items were cut. The green marble is 500 million years old and was used in the Senate chambers of the PA statehouse. We were not on a tour and had the showroom to ourselves.
