What a wonderful vacation spot! Guemes Island Resort was the perfect place for our family to experience the San Juan Islands. The setting is beautiful and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Very family friendly. We stayed in the 20 foot yurt, which fit our family of five just right. Very clean and open layout with one queen or king size bed, twin bunk beds, a fold out futon, table and chairs, and a large deck perfect for relaxing and playing games. The cook area and bathrooms are also new and very clean. The current owners have really put a lot into the resort and it shows. We rented the yurt with linens, camp stove, and cookware, which included everything we needed to prepare all our meals. The "no extra cost" nature of the resort is also a real plus and made our already fantanstic vacation even better. We went kayaking, row boating, and crabbing without a single charge for use of their gear (boats, life jackets, crab pots, and more). We've never caught crab before and the staff were very helpful in showing us how to use the gear, handle the crabs, etc. This is apparently a very good location to catch crab, which were plentiful in the waters immediately in front of the resort. We caught our limit the first day and enjoyed a wonderful meal of freshly cooked crab right on the beach with the most amazing views of the islands. The resort also includes a small but very well stocked shop with an incredible beer and wine selection, snacks, locally made crafts, and more. If you like well-crafted microbrews, you won't be disappointed with the selections (many from the best San Diego and Pacific NW breweries). All in all, we couldn't ask for more and will definately return in the future!

Last summer I was lucky enough to share a week long stay in one of Guemes Island Resorts yurts with my significant other.

The Yurts are a great alternative to the wonderful beachfront cabins, in which we have stayed on previous occasions. The yurts were situated peacefully in the woods above the beach. Each yurt has a private deck to relax on and private bathrooms in a nearby building. A short stroll along a lovely wooded path will find you at the waters edge where the views are only surpassed by the serenity and majesty of the Puget sound and all of its denizens.

There are no shortage of activities on Guemes Island, and when the evenings came we were especially surprised by a beach side fire pit that remains in operation throughout the summer with a special permit obtained by the managers, despite the Island wide fire ban imposed every summer.

As always the management was extremely friendly and helpful. They were always available to provide us with any needed amenities, as well as providing insight and knowledge about the local ecosystems and indigenous flora and fauna.

We can't wait to return next summer. We will definitely choose the yurts again for a comfortable and cool forest retreat that is conveniently situated next to one of the finest beaches in Skagit County.

Many thanks go out to Mark and the rest of the friendly staff at the Resort. Can't wait to see you next year on our annual pilgrimage to Guemes Island for rest , relaxation, and fun!

What a great place to call home for 5 days! The location & views are amazing. The accommodations are fabulous. The management & staff are all wonderful & treated us like family. The crabbing was great, the food in town & on the island was all good. Really enjoyed the relaxation of days that included strolling on the beach, taking hikes up to Guemes Mountain, making great dinners in the stylish new cabin, hot tubs & bonfires at night... what more could you ask for. Be prepared to get inspired & want to return soon! I'm already looking forward to my return to Guemes Island Resort.

My family had a fabulous trip to Guemes Island Resort. The staff was friendly, professional and always timely to our needs. Our cabin was exceptional: comfortable, killer views, styli with a hot tub and steam shower... nice!
They even dialed in some crabbing and a pod of orca to round out the experience. We'll be back as soon as we can.

this resort exceeded every expectation I had. the staff was resourceful, kind and professional, the location was unbelievable, and the cabins were exquisite. we stayed in the newly built cabins, and enjoyed reading books in the outdoor hot tub while birdwatching, sleeping on the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, and using the kitchen equipment and comfortably as if it was our own home. with 2 adults and a little one, this cabin and resort was perfect. we walked up and down the beach every morning, saw a pod of orca whales, skipped stones, and looked for rare agates. the gift shop is quaint and artistically driven, and there are many places to wander and get lost within the spiderwebs, rosehips and big old cypress trees that fill the resort property.
