“March ski holiday”
Reviewed April 6, 2014

travelling was excellent with Austrian Airways the complimentary refreshments including wine/beer/tea/coffee were a bonus, setting the holiday off to a good start.
The transfers were good.(2 1/4 hrs)
The accommodation was excellent, its the second Chalet hotel with Inghams this year,(Cortina)
both were excellent ,this hotel being smaller.
The staff at the hotel were very efficient and pleasant and the food was once again excellent.
The resort was excellent ,plenty of runs once you got to the gondola. There was a lift to the gondola about 8 min walk from the hotel.
Would definitely use this hotel again.

Room Tip: rooms 206 side were sunny in the evening room 203 have morning sun

This was our third stay in an Inghams Chalet Hotel. Great value for money, as you get Breakfast, Pre dinner drinks, full evening meal with nasty wine!!

Out of the ones stayed in this was definitely the noisiest as there are no carpets in the whole hotel. So every step taken, door opened and closed, discussion had, cupboard opened and closed, guest leaving at 3 am, guests coming in at 3 am was heard.

The beds are a little hard, but the rooms are big enough. The standard of cleaning compared to the other one stayed in was not to the same standard and the floors, with no carpets, are often still gritty after being cleaned

The staff were friendly enough and if you asked for anything it was promptly actioned. But as we were sharing the hotel with 2 large groups (a group of 14 and a group of 16 approx) who were originally booked to stay in catered chalets that more consideration should be given to all guests as some did not want to party until the early hours after a full days skiing.

But don't let this put you off. The location is good, just 10 mins to chair lift (Slightly up-hill) and far enough away from the main road not to hear it. The rooms at the front of the hotel have stunning views of the Dolomites. As previously advised these chalet hotels are excellent value and can not be beaten on price, but it is pot luck when it comes to your other guests.

Room tip either 201 or 202 are excellent choices.

Room Tip: Go for 201 or 202 as they are far enough away from the bar and have great views.

This was our first experience of an Ingham's Chalet Hotel, and delivered on every count exceeding expectations equally & in many areas exceeding 3/4 Star Private Hotels.

Situated in a quiet residential street just 5 minutes from the nearest lift which then allowed access to the main gondola.

The Husband & Wife Management Team Dave & Gail create & deliver a winning formula, who clearly lead by example & inspire their staff to create a very warm, friendly as well as efficient offering that many Independent hotels would do well to aspire to!!

Many positive points but Key are
- Quality food from the Malaysian Chef with a good choice - his Malaysian Cod was worthy of any top Star restaurant.
- Wide choice for Breakfast including Hot English if desired
- Free afternoon Tea & scrumptious home made cakes
- Free Pre Dinner aperitif & Wine with Dinner
- Clean comfortable facilities including Free Top Floor Mountain View sauna

Very knowledgeable helpful Ingham's Italian Rep Sara, who delivered the most informative Welcome Familiarisation meeting we have ever attended and continued to help & advise throughout the week.

Highly recommended

Just got back from La Villa with a bunch of 11 friends on a ski trip. Really enjoyable! Made to feel really welcome by Gail, Dave and the Inghams team all the time we were there. Chalet rooms were great for a ski trip..... Loads of room to store and hang kit. Clean, comfy bed and a good shower.... What else do you need. Nice bar area and sensible prices....... Not something you always get on a ski holiday. Not ski in ski out but nearest lift about a 5-10 min walk away, but uphill on morning. Need to give a special mention to Sara the Inghams rep and ski guide. Again nothing was too much trouble and on
the 2 days we went out with guided days (one of which wasn 't scheduled) her she was great. Can't speak for the rooms at the back but the one we had was at the front and whilst we didn't use it much there was a balcony where you could sit out. The view was great. We would go back !

We stayed at the Inghams Chalet Hotel from the 22nd Feb to the 1st March 2014 and I can not praise the hotel, the staff, the Management team of Dave and Gail and its location enough. We had a fabulous time. The Hotel was clean comfortable and the facilities for a keen skiing group were first rate. We had second floor rooms with a balcony with fabulous views. The food was brilliant, breakfasts always included a hot option(full English if you want it) and the tea time cake was scrumptious. The Chef produced mouth watering evening meals with enough choice to satisfy everyone. I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly and the skiing in the Sella Ronda was brilliant.

Room Tip: Our Rooms 203 and 204 were second floor with great view, sorry didn't see other rooms to compare...

Inghams have hit upon a winning formula here; if I were an independent alpine hotel proprietor I'd be quaking in my ski boots at what Inghams can do for the price and still make a profit! For what we paid we had good food and great service from friendly and dedicated Inghams staff, ably led by a strong management team in the form of Dave and his wife Gail.

Positive Points:
- Hearty full English breakfast and/or continental options
- Free beverages and scrumptuous homemade cakes 4.00 - 5.00pm to replenish tired legs!
- Free pre-dinner aperitif + canapes in bar so you mingle/share experiences with other guests.
- A good menu choice (two starters, two deserts and three mains) plus cheese board
- Lovely communal bar (widescreen Freesat TV) and spacious dining room
- Free wine with dinner, good quality choice of 2 x French reds, 1 x rose and 2 x whites
- Free use of Sauna from 4.00pm (need to pre-book as limited capacity of 4 at a time!)
- Free wifi and place to sit and relax and read in large top floor communal snug
- Very helpful and friendly staff and management
- Italian Inghams rep called Sara really helpful and spot on with every recommendation
- Clean, modern and well maintained hotel with spacious rooms and balconies
- Situated in quiet residential road but only 10 mins walk to main shops and supermarket
- Easy blue runs located close by in village for beginners so no need to get main gondola
- Access to extensive 'Sella Ronda' ski area to keep even the keenest skiers happy
- Great selection of reasonably priced good quaity mountain restaurants for lunch
- Good authentic Ladino restaurant 'La Ciano' close for when Ingams staff have their night off
- Nice winter walking paths along valley to adjacent resorts of Corvara and San Cassiano

Things to Be Aware Of:
- The main gondola is a 10 minute walk along a busy main road (or 15 minutes via two short inter-connecting village chairlifts). So if If you're a keen skier and want to get over to the main Alta Badia ski area quickly in the mornings, hire your skis from the 'Ski Renaud' ski hire shop at the main 'Piz d'Ila' gondola station and leave your skis and boots there overnight. Their prices are also cheaper than the shop Inghams use for the equivalent standard of skis.
- Whilst the hotel food was generous, good quality and varied you could be forgiven for not knowing you were in Italy. There were only a few Italian style dishes on the menu. For instance there was not a main pasta dish all week! And all the wine was French; I think Ingams buy in bulk for all their Chalet Hotels. So if you want to experience Ladino/Italian cuisine make use of lunchtime mountain restaurants and the Inghams night off by going to 'La Ciano'.
- Inghams have consolidated their flight operation in recent years by trying to serve all their featured Italian resorts from Innsbruck over the border in Austria. Whilst they have worked hard with their partner Austria Airways to ensure all flights arrive and depart at a similar time to avoid delays, the suggested two hour transfer from Innsbruck to resort is therefore invariably longer due to waiting for other flights and traffic congestion, especially during high season. Despite therefore being on a coach for the best part of 3.5 hours (on top of 2 hours on the plane), the coach driver does not stop for a comfort break. So whilst having something to drink with you on the coach sounds like a good idea, intake needs to be balanced by the fact that you won't be able to excrete it! Transfer back to Innsbruck is not a problem because at 3.00am no one else is on the road!

Excellent hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. The chef offers a delicious menu with a range of choices and there was something to please each member of the family. The hotel is close to the slopes and hire shop. The hotel also has lovely communal sitting areas where guests can relax. Inghams are onto a good one here!!
