“Great Ski Holiday and Hotel”
Reviewed January 6, 2014 via mobile

Just returned from an excellent skiing holiday in La Villa. I can't say enough about the friendliness and helpfulness of Dave, Gail and their staff. We arrived late from Innsbruck and Dave sorted out some minor issues with the rooms and let us sample the wine list. Although the staff were young they were cheery and very helpful. The meals were excellent, a great range of food each night. I would also recommend the two nearby pizzerias for the Wednesday night (or lunch if you find yourself down the hill during the day) when the hotel is shut - nice food and excellent Weiss beer. The walk to the main gondola is a good 10 mins so I would recommend the far shorter walk across the main road and take the chair lifts up to the gondola. Allows you a nice blue to warm up before the more difficult runs up the hill. Some review had mentioned that there were only good views from the front, the views from the back are ok too and most of the rooms have nice balconies.
All in all a very enjoyable holiday and a lovely hotel.

I can only agree with all the good things about Al Pigher. Cleanliness, excellent food quality, great crowd of guests etc etc. but I Also agree with the comments on the manager and staff, generally unfriendly, poor atmosphere which was quite apparent on first reaching the chalet. Have stayed in Chalet Lukas in Mayerhofen this summer so had a good comparison which only highlighted the short fallings of the manager and staff. But having said all this I would not let it stop me from returning, as I suppose staff members and managers get moved around, we had a fantastic weeks holiday and great weather too.

Room Tip: Choose front rooms if possible

Just returned from a two-centre Inghams stay in La Villa and Mayrhofen. This review concerns the first of these locations. We were most impressed by the standard of care at the Al Pigher. The hotel manager, Justin, his staff and the chef, Bruno all contributed to a most enjoyable first week and made us most welcome. We were very pleased by the size of the hotel suite with its additional second room, a sitting room to relax, read or watch TV. We did however find the bed rather too 'firm' for our liking. Housekeeping was of good standard and the 'on tap' tea and coffee throughout the day was truly appreciated .. very welcome mid-afternoon after several hours of hill walking. Meals were superb thanks to Bruno's dedication to his task and he frequently visited guests to enquire whether the meals were to our satisfaction as well as performing some Italian opera pieces on the last night. Meals on this holiday were some of the best we have enjoyed as Inghams' guests over a number of years. The tables were effectively waited upon with generous replenishment of drinks. We were able to linger in the dining room and chat with fellow satisfied guests at our table for as long as we thought appropriate and desirable. We were very much taken with the Chalet Hotel concept and even though its relative informality might not appeal to all, we enjoyed the opportunity to join a group of initial strangers and exchange tales of days in the mountains and move on to all manor of in depth but always light-hearted conversation. We are Chalet hotel converts and will look to holiday at an equivalent set-up in another resort in the future.

Room Tip: Choose a suite for plenty of room to relax.

Our first ever stay at an Inghams chalet hotel in A Villa Italy. Spotlessly clean, spacious rooms and good food. The location was perfect as its near a gondola and a chairlift that takes you up to some magnificent mountain views. Only a 1 hour walk to the next village Corvara, where there are more choices for gondolas and chairlifts.

We enjoyed meeting up at 7pm every night for an aperitif and then to sit on a table of 8 for dinner. It was fun to discuss the days walking and where to go the next day. We got some good hints and tips.

Unfortunately, the Manager Justin was cold, unapproachable and not very helpful. The rest of the team didn't seem too happy either. Dinner was rushed, the plates were cleared away too quickly, the wine seem to be rationed, and we felt we couldn't relax around the table after the meal and leisurely chat. Most nights we were back in our room by 9pm.

Having spoken to other guests that had stayed in other Inghams Chalet hotels, we discovered that this one was the worst for customer service and we shouldn't be put off trying others. We won't be going back to this hotel.

Room Tip: A basic hotel. The first floor at the back of the hotel is actually ground floor as the property is...

Just returned from a lovely week at Chalet Hotel Al Pigher in La Villa. The hotel has a really friendly atmosphere set by the manager, staff and chef. The chef Bruno Gudiak often came into the dining room to check that the meals were OK and they were really very good every evening. The fish and the meat were tasty and interesting. My cod in a paper parcel, cooked with sauce vierge was lovely, the beef and the lamb were tender and had lots of flavour and the BBQ with home made burgers and marinaded chicken was excellent. All our party of 24 were particularly delighted when Guido agreed to sing some opera for us on the last evening.

I have just returned from the Al Pigher Hotel along with 23 other members of our walking group.
This was my first attempt at organising a group holiday in the Alps. We returned back in the UK 24 very happy tired walkers. Value for money the hotel was first class in a quiet area of the town with really good happy staff and Justin the manger. All rooms were very acceptable food was excellent from the opera singing chef. We had 80% of the rooms and I have received nothing but good comment from all our party. It is not a hotel for luxury surroundings. but for walkers and outdoor people it was A1 and that includes the price.

Room Tip: Front of house rooms have a fantastic view in the morning if you leave your curtains open at night.

We have just come back from a 2 week stay at this chalet/hotel. It was FANTASTIC, the staff could not do enough for you and the manager (Justin) was so helpful, friendly and approachable he really made our stay, every night we had different aperitifs and Justin would keep us up to date with any news from Britain, he was always there to help and advise and nothing was too much trouble. You could see that he was a really good manager as his team didn't need any prompting and they were all happy and helpful. Emma, Serena, Kate and Lawrence a big THANK YOU for making our holiday the best one ever. Bruno, not only prepares EXQUISITE food (it was the best I have ever had on holiday) but sings as well and Peter and Martin although we didn't meet you it was due to your help behind the scenes that our holiday experience was such a good one, thank you. Please if anyone from Inghams monitors this site take note of what an excellent team you have in this Chalet and reward them for their good work.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone one, as to the last persons comments on the cleaning and the need to update, I didn't find anything thing to complain about. It is not a 5 star hotel it is a 4 star chalet in a stunning location, food that could not have been better, a wine glass that was refilled regularly, afternoon tea and cakes (the cakes were gorgeous) and staff that are absolutely fabulous. Thank you all for a brilliant holiday and well done Inghams for providing such fantastic staff.

Room Tip: We had room 103 but I think I will have room 101 or 201 when I stay here again
