“Gentle giants”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

It was an amazing experience meeting these gentle giants. The elephants looks happy and well cared for. It is a privelidge to be able to touch them and walk with them. They are well trained and the trainers spoke to them softly. They enjoyed the treats and know the procedure because as soon as they noticed that the container with treats were empty they said their goodbyes and went for a stroll.

Our guide was well knowledgable and funny - cannot remember his name - and patiently waited for all of us to take photos and even helped to get the nesesary shots to take home.

It was fun and educational and made us feel small to learn their stories - Well done Maroela, Jabu and Thandi.

“Amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

I loved walking with the elephants and touching and feeding them. Patrick, the guide, was very good and also quite funny :-) Don't stay away even if it's raining - they have very good ponchos that you can use for free.

“A wonderful experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2012

The elephants here are rescued and are being rehabilitated prior to being released into a game park. They 'earn their keep' by allowing tourists to walk with them. It is a privilage to be allowed such close contact with this huge and gentle animal

“Wonderful opportunity to get to know and understand African elephants”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2012

Further to previous reviewers’ comments, the herd when we visited was five elephants: one bull, and four females. The animals are evidently well-cared for, and the experience of walking with and touching the elephants really brings home what wonderful animals these are. The elephants are trained to demonstrate certain natural behaviours (for example, shaking off dust) on certain prompts, but this falls comfortably to the right side of being a circus act. All in all, a good balance of the educational and the enjoyable.
