Spent two nights here, and would have loved to have stayed longer. Fantastic location with views over unspoilt country/forest and really convenient for other attractions nearby (elephants, cheetahs, birds, horse-riding etc). The lodge-room was huge and really comfortable, log fire to relax around with pre-dinner drinks and canapés. The food was very good and the attention to detail incredible - hot water bottles on a chilly night, popcorn and cookies in the room! The staff were helpful and friendly Would love to go back to indulge further - didn't have time to experience the spa this time, unfortunately. I would thoroughly recommend!

The hotel staff were incredible- they were really good with my nephews. Food was delicious and the dining area was great fun. Good hotel for children to meet other children and a nice place for adults to be meet over dinner on the communal table. Hotel was in a great location for activities such as zip lining, the elephant sanctuary and cheetah sanctuary. Pool was nice too although we had terrible weather. We found the family rooms were quite small. Overall a great hotel for a couple of nights in the Crags!

We stayed here for three nights arriving late afternoon. Our individual lodge-room was large and comfortable containing a king-sized bed, sofa, ensuite bathroom, private balcony overlooking unspoilt forrest, a ready laid wood fire and later that evening we found hot-water-bottles had been inserted into our bed.
The evening meal, which could be taken at communal tables or at separate ones, was well presented and delicious . All staff were friendly and efficient and we enjoyed the sociable ambience well Into the late evening utilising the communal open-air terrace with easy chairs and sofas and very effective log-burning suspended basket.
However, next morning, with bright sunlight streaming into our bathroom, it was very clear to see that the housekeeping prior to our arrival had been very substandard. On mentioning this at reception whilst enroute to breakfast, the response was brilliantly professional. We received a heartfelt apology, were thanked for telling them and on our return to our room after breakfast found that a card bearing a written apology together with a bottle of champagne on ice and a further present had been left. On our return later that day, both the bedroom and bathroom sparkled like the proverbial new pin!
We greatly enjoyed our three days there and the management response to the housekeeping problem built our confidence in the whole personnel team who we found both delightfully friendly and helpful but also very efficient. Please, book with confidence - you will not be disappointed .

Room Tip: All rooms appeared exceptionally good

Set on the fringe of a hollow, Hog Hollow overlooks the beautiful green countryside. Excellent food (we wished we had eaten there for another night rather than the poor Enricos) at a reasonable price very cheery friendly efficient staff always with a welcome. Drinks around the outside fire and eat either in a group or on your own table.
Really enjoyable. Perhaps the bedrooms could do with a bit of refurbishment.

Hog Hollow, set in the most beautiful nature reserve, is exceptional on all levels: service, accommodation, comfort and creativity were all outstanding. The dedication and passion of the owner and his team is truly remarkable. All the little touches, the warm welcome on arrival, the fireplace in our room, the hot water bottles with turndowns and the delicious breakfast and dinner make it the perfect place to stay on the Garden route. We also enjoyed meeting the other guests around the boma, where delicious canapes were served in the evening. Sadly we were only there for 1 night but will definately be back. Well done to Andy and his team!
