We really enjoyed our three nights at Hog Hollow in spite of the rain! The lodges are spacious, stylish and well appointed. Lovely touches included the fire in the room, hot water bottles in our bed when we returned from dinner and the chocolate placed on the pillow. The only thing we missed was bathrobes.
Dining with other guests was an enjoyable experience and the food and wine were very good.
Highly recommended.

We stayed at Hog Hollow during a recent tour of South Africa - and had 1 regret - 2 nights was simply not enough, we could easily have stayed there for the rest of the holiday !
The location, the views, the décor, and the people - it had a real WOW factor as soon as we arrived - few places make such an impact !
The Lodges were spacious and had everything you could want - sitting on the verandah enjoying the views was a real pleasure.
Dinner at a large communal table was something special, with can-napes and drinks on the terrace to start, with simply excellent food and service.
Breakfast was equally enjoyable.
It was a privilege to stay at Hog Hollow.

I stayed here with my husband and 2 teenage children during a fly/drive holiday in South Africa in 2012. It was a truly memorable experience. The staff were lovely, the food wonderful the rooms unbelievably spacious with wonderful decoration and views. The were situated so that you felt you were in a tree house. One of the most unusual and memorable places I have ever stayed.

What a beautiful place to stay! This hotel was exactly what I had in mind when we booked to come to South Africa. Each individual lodge was beautifully laid out with African furnishings and a gorgeous wood burning stove - perfect for the chilly nights we experienced in early Sep.

The welcome was perfect and the little touches such as washing your car each morning and putting a hot water bottle in your bed on cold nights make this place very special. Communal dining was unusual but I enjoyed hearing other's tales and recommendations. The food was excellent and we enjoyed all of our meals, breakfast was superb.

A great location for exploring the Crags. Monkeyland and Birds of Eden are well worth a visit.

Hog Hollow is about 18km outside Plettenberg Bay in a beautiful spot overlooking a wooded valley with mountains beyond. The rooms are so designed that when you are on your deck you cannot see another room - just fantastic scenery. The welcome is warm and enthusiastic. The public areas are a series of small rooms that offer lots of comfy chairs. Dining is communual which works really well. They will provide a table on your own if you prefer it that way. The food is well cooked and of high quality. Breakfast is very good with a cold buffet and hot food cooked to order. If the weather allows it is served on the deck overlooking the wooded valley. (Just watch out for monkeys who also fancy a Hog Hollow breakfast)
Service is exceptional. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. What a lovely surprise to return to our room after dinner on a cool spring evening to find hot water bottles in our bed !
