I stayed at Hog Hollow twice, once in the fabulous self catering home on the property and once in the lodge section.
The house is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. With mountain views al along the house, this property takes your breath away. This house is cleary geared towards entertaining, and travelling with friends we had a wonderful time here. The fantastic kitchen opens up onto the terrace and pool area where we spent most of our time here.
The lodge itself is extremely comfortable and the decoration perfect for the setting. Homemade biscuits next to the tea and coffee stand was a lovely touch as well as the small cards and warm water bottled for turndown. The breakfast is great, and it is easy to spend hours around the breakfast table drinking coffee and enjoying the sunshine.
All the staff are well-trained and willing to help wherever they can.
The Crags is not a well known tourist area, and you would have to drive down to Nature's Valley to go to the beach. But Nature's Valley is a must-see place in its own right, so it didn't bother us too much.
If you are travelling in the area, a night at Hog Hollow is a MUST!!!

Beautiful place to stay. Thatched cabins comfortable and spotlessly clean - deck and garden area very private and secluded. Staff welcoming and surroundings glorious. Food delicious - and do NOT be put off by the communal dining option - great craic and a good mix of people.

With our two grown up daughters we spent a wonderful night at Hogs Hollow. Terrific accommodation, the opportunity to dine ( well) with fellow travellers. Excellent food, fine service . Breakfast was equally good with sparkling wine to start the day and roof scrambling monkeys as entertainment.
A bit outside Plettenberg Bay but well worth the journey

Hog Hollow was an amazing stay. Each room was private and spacious and decorated tastefully with a comfortable bed, big bathroom and wonderful environment. Good location with great views. The service is what stands out as exceptional in my mind. Everyone went out of their way and seemed genuinely interested in our trip and making sure we had a great time. The dinners were communal which we were skeptical at first but turned out to be social event, swapping stories of our journeys. There were people from around the world staying at the same time so there was a wide range of perspectives. This type of dining may not be for everyone. The pool is a good place to lounge after a day of sightseeing or hiking. There is a sauna available as well.

You can't but relax here - hammocks, decking, pool all great. We were dubious of the communal dining but we enjoyed it - 3 nights was plenty though! Unfortunately the weather wasn't great when we stayed there as we would love to have chilled out at the pool more. Service, food and wine were amazing. Just watch the mozzies at Monkeyland!
