The Lotus Pond and the Dragon Tiger Tower are worth an visit if you are in Kaohsiung. There are number of temples and towers on the lake or on the side of the lake. They are all spectacular, beautifully painted, very colourful and grand. On top of the tower you can get the beautiful views over the lake, temples, Buddhas and other religious figures Statues, the zigzagging walking paths over the lake add more charm to the scenery. There is a parking place nearby, 30NTD for 6 hours, you will get a ticket on your window screen, you can pay it at any Seven Eleven store with 14 days.

This place is situated on the Lotus lake. Well frankly it isn’t much but the colorful and brightly painted towers provide for a good backdrop for a few touristy pictures. There are a lot of such temples over the lake and this is the most famous one. You enter through the dragon and exit through the tiger. You can also climb up the tower for a view of the neighboring area.

It was a really hot and sunny day when I visited the place, but it couldn’t stop me for admiring the beauty of this place and went up both towers! View was excellent and the architecture is really colorful and vibrant. Lot of tourist too. Worth a stopover.

Great views back over the lake. Make sure you also stop at the large statue of the god over the water. Impressive!
