Worth a visit to the museum in the park. Some English there but very good to learn about this history. It only needs 45 mins.

It's located in the hear of the city. The park has an old style of shelter that result in an interesting feeling as you are in the old days. It could also be dangerous and creepy at night if you walk alone as there are some homeless living inside.

it's used to call New Park [XinGongYuan]. it has 2 very old train heads, a big pond with a bridge, 2 copper cows at main gate, and some traditional style constructions. at 1 corner, it has a big bus for blood donation, I used to be a volunteer there.

We had a really good tour here - Tour Me Away took us, they told us the short but complex history of Taiwan and 228 peace park's meaning. It was a really good experience for our first day there, perfect way to start the trip. Try to do the walk over rocks - it's bloody hard and can be painful but a cool little culture experience.

Usually fairly busy during the day, but still quiet and relaxing. Nice to walk around after a trip to the National Taiwan Museum.
