This is a very cheap 1 star hotel. So don't expect a nice bed nor a clean bathroom. The rooms smell bad and is moldy, but it's close to the Taipei main station. I stayed at the main hotel and you have to walk across the street to the annex to get breakfast. Only stay here if price is an issue.

The lack of review makes decision making tougher.
We didn't stay at the Flora Hotel Annex but instead at Flora Hotel - Main (it is just opposite the Flora Hotel Annex).

The main hotel that we stayed at was very basic - a bed, a mini fridge and a private bathroom. The staffs were very friendly and helpful to ensure our pleasant stay. The bed was tough, it felt like we're sleeping on a board hence we had to request for extra blankets as cushion. The pillow is comfortable however it's a bit on the flat side for us, hence we requested for extra pillows as well. The staff were very helpful to accommodate to our request.
The room and bathroom is dated however for the price and location, i think it's considered pretty cheap. The hotel is located less than 10 mins walk from Taipei main station. The nearest exit would be the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi mall exit and Z6 exit. 7-11 is just beside the hotel and family mart is across the street. Plenty of restaurants and bakeries around. There's also shopping boutique such as Uniqlo, H&M and NET along the way to the hotel.
On average it cost USD22 per night per person which is very cheap IMO for the location.
If you're expecting a nice boutique hotel, this is not for you. Most of their guest are japanese (i think it's probably a domestic hotel for the japanese)

The hotel room is not new at all. Yet its bed is big enough for a family with kids. Its advantage is its proximity to main train station and bus terminal. I could easily locate the hotel even at mid-night on my own for joining my family there.

I was impressed by the cleaning lady who made room for us. She greeted us cheerfully and asked where we came from.

Moreover, there are a number of eateries nearby where we can try the local authentic food.

Although slightly worn-out, room was clean with basic amenities like kettle and hair-dryer. Front-desk service could be warmer. Even though we could converse with the front desk girls in Mandarin, we only received cursory replies. All through our 5 day stay, not once did we receive a greeting or a smile from front desk. Housekeeping was friendlier. We always got either a "good morning" or "how are you" in Mandarin from them. We had 4 rooms and noticed all rooms came in varying shapes and sizes. We had heard hotel rooms in Taipei were generally quite small but the rooms were not all that small and we could move around comfortably. All rooms had windows although some looked into the street or side lane and some had no view but looked across the central air well into the opposite corridor. At least this was better than having no window at all for those claustrophobics. Location was great. We chose not to have breakfast included and there were plentiful choices round the corner from local coffee shops to Burger King. For lunch or dinner, the food court at Mitsukoshi or Breezes Food Court at Taipei Main Station was the usual quick choice for us.

Room tip: The rooms with a double and single are slightly larger. Inner rooms have no street view but are quieter.
