Four friends (two couples) stayed at Twing for one night as we needed accommodation that was close to Taipei Main for an early train departure. The rooms were clean and spacious and the beds were large, with comfortable pillows and blankets with plenty of room to sit up despite being a bunk bed. Each room had complimentary slippers, toothbrushes, razors fave towels etc., And the layout of the room felt more like a loft than a bunk bed.

All the common areas, including washrooms were spotless. The breakfast consisted of sandwiches, cereal, coffee (delicious), and tea. The building was secure and even though we were close to the lobby, we had a quiet and restful night sleep.

I would definitely recommend staying here. Great value, convenient location, clean and safe. Just make sure you bring a towel as those are not provided.

Travelled to Taiwan last December with my BIG family...First of all Location was just perfect, walking distance to Taipei Main Station, subways, bus stops, convenience stores and night markets! Second, super clean rooms, common areas as well as showers and toilets are very well maintained. Supplies of toiletries are good as well. Hostel was always picture perfect in all angles. Breakfast was delish from coffee, tea, milk, cereals and specialty breads! Last but not the least, super friendly and accomodating staff! Worth coming back!

1. Location: Situated near to Taipei Main Station, the touristy (but fun) Ximen district, and other buildings of interest (Presidential Palace, Chiang Kai Shek Park, etc), this hostel is worth the stay!
2. The place: you enter in a very clean designed, warm-lighted, welcoming common/dining area. The front desk staff is manned by the owners! Very friendly!
3. The room: (I was assigned a windowless room). Bed, pillows and comforters were soft and cozy. The double bunk was a cool design!
4. Bath amenities (common area): Very clean! Also have liquid soap and shampoo provided in the shower area. We were given small bath towels (is it because it is easier to wash them? Or is it so guests won't go out of the rooms in bath towels?) + toothpaste/toothbrush.

All in all, book this place if you need budgeting for your accommodation, but do not want the horrors of the hostel. This is indeed a delightful experience.

I must admit upon arriving at the building, I was not very optimistic. The hostel is located at the 4th floor of a pretty normal looking building. There was no prominent signage at the exterior building facade and it is a tad difficult to locate it if you are not familiar with the roads and buildings. We would have missed it if not for the cab driver.

Once the lift door opened at the 4th floor, I was immediately & pleasantly surprised. A large dining table greeted us at the main lobby area and the ambience was cosy and welcoming. The friendly host Mr Jason Lee greeted us with a warm and welcoming hello. We were way earlier than the check in time but he allowed us to keep our luggages in the storeroom while we made our way out & about to start the first day of our activities.

We had a fun but tiring day so we're really looking forward to have a good rest, to recharge for the next day. The rooms did not disappoint us at all. We booked 3 rooms and I took the family room with my wife and son. It was so clean and cosy. There were 2 huge beds, and a single. There was also a sofa, safe, air purifier/humidifier as well.
The toilet is huge and what's worth mentioning is that it is wheelchair friendly. Very thoughtful of the owner for that. The hot water and pressure was good. There was hair dryer, toothbrush, shavers and even shower gel and shampoo. This is indeed a nice cosy place to rest & relax.
Breakfast was being served every morning at the common dinning area. Coffee, milk, cereal and sandwiches were served, one each per person. I suggest they can consider rotating the menu as for the four mornings we were there, the breakfasts were exactly the same. The sandwiches were supplied/bought from a nearby bakery. They were really delicious, but for some people, having the same breakfast a few days in a roll may not be a good way to start the day. Well hack, I loved the ham rolls anyways...
The location of this hostel is situated about 8 minutes walk to the Taipei Main Station to the left, and about the same walking distant to XMT to the right.
There are a few convenience stores nearby so getting any snacks or drinks etc is easy.

On the last day, instead of 11am check out time, the host Mr Jason allowed extension to 2pm for us. That gave us some extra time for last minute shopping at the nearby XMT before our cab picked us up for the airport. We really appreciate the thoughtfulness of Mr Lee very much.

Overall, you can't really go wrong with this place, with it's reasonable room rate, good location, clean & comfy rooms and a very nice and accomodating host to top it off.

This place only officially opened during Aug 2017 but with all the positive vibes & reviews, I reckon Twing Stay will become very popular, very soon so make sure to book early!
