The hotel fills the lower end of the 3 stars category..
The interior and design is a little outdated that someone could even find charming.. i am down to praticity and to avoid any surprise when i stay in a hotel, so anything that could harm my health is considered unacceptable: this hotel barely escape the category.
To clarify better the concept, i'd just say that i heard on my head, something moving on the counter roof/vent system.. nothing luckily appeared or dropped down, but that is already a bad start.
The hotel doesn't have any other extra service than a breakfast room, an internet area and what they call an exercise room in the basement. I'd disregard the exercise room, since is not placed in an healthy environment: go for a run in the streets/parks of Taipei, is much better!
So let's go back to the basement where the exercise room and breakfast room and internet PCs are located. Being in the basement forget about mobile signal.. so if you need to tell someone you are having breakfast or you are in the gym.. you cannot, you are simply unreachable there. If that could sound an heaven in Taipei to you, think about.. you connected to the internet to find the place you want to go.. you want to call them? you cannot, you need to climb back one floor..
The room itself is not anything fancy but that would be ok for a breakfast room (breakfast is ok, some warm dish.. enough to fill you after one night sleep.. expect nothing gourmet, nor lots of fresh fruit.. there is almost zero of that) however the smeel of chemicals due to some cleaning/laundry is just bearable for the 10 minutes of the breakfast.. so if you are allergic to chemical avoid to descend into this territory.
The hotel room is not big, has flat TV, bag stand.. and a funny double shower partially occupied by a movable bath tub.. i donno what happened there.. some misunderstanding in the design or an urge to fit a bath tun in a bathroom that has only a double shower.. see the pics.. is funny..
There are 2 good sides of this hotels tough.. welcome fruit basket (seen in other Taipei hotels), free snack every day in the room and the house keeping time is stated and they will not know at your door when you put do not disturb. Internet as well is free, if you catch the signal.
One downside.. as many other hotel, you are requested to leave your keys when you leave the hotel building.. that would be ok, if you had the feeling they actually make sure who you are and what room you stay.. the fact that is was given a few times the wrong room keys is a matter of concern for the safety of your belongings in the hotel.. after that i am removing one star from the review.. i think safety in your hotel room is a must when you travel.
Good location, 5 minutes walk from the Ninxia market and metro at 2 minutes walk.. also reachable with hotel bus from the airport, easy to come and go (check the timetable..)
