For those who love hotpot, I would recommend this place for its excellent range of food, drinks and desserts. It’s ala carte buffet style, so you can order as many plates of meat, seafood and vegetables as you could stomach. There’s also a self-help section where you help yourself with wide selection of beverages (hot and cold), noodles, rice, and even ice-cream (over 20 different flavours to choose from. Soup base are tasty too! Great for family meals!

An extremely popular hotpot chain (with a few outlets in Ximending), we found the experience ok but had a better hotpot meal during our trip (Momo Paradise- see my other review). This place is better suited to people who want variety (drinks, food, sauces and lots of ice cream) rather than quality of the meats.

However, if you want to give this place a try, make sure to go to the outlet and make a reservation the first day that you arrive in Taipei.

We went here with family and friends who recommended this restaurant.
The restaurant has got a pretty good selection of food to choose from and I loved their BBQ sauce. Plenty of good veggie choices as well as a great selection of ice creams (both Häagen Dasz and Mövenpick) as well as other desserts.
Would I come back here? Definitely!

Mala Hotpot is one of the largest chains for AYCE hotpot in Taipei, and with good reason. Their meat quality is better than their competitors, and they have the best selection of food - meat, seafood, veggies, various fishballs and dumplings, beverages, and beer and wine (obviously not high quality wine). Haagen Dazs and movenpick ice cream and seasonal fruits and desserts to fill your other stomach. Aside from the spicy soupbase there are abt 3 or 4 other soupbases you can choose from. Typically you choose 2 per table. Great value!

This place is the best hotpot place ever. All you can eat with Prime beef and Movenpick and Haagen Dazs ice cream. For around NT$700. I’ve been here for 2 years straight and my boyfriend and I enjoyed ourselves.

Just be aware that there is 2 hour time limit which I think anyone would have stuffed themselves to the gill within that time period.
