This place has a lot going for it: obscure 80s films projected onto grainy wood by the bar (humanoids from the deep, for our visit), semi-professional beer logos painted around the cornice, a black cat, and a decent selection of local beers and good bar food. It's doubtless more geared towards a western palate. I'm a big ipa proponent - they had about 4, some local - but got a great suggestion for a local blonde ale that had a fair amount of hoppiness to it. The "spicy bites" (jalapeño poppers) were not particularly spicy, but were definitely homemade and delicious. Also had some bean dip with tortilla chips, which is a filling bar snack with cheese and sour cream. Not a big place, but has bar, cocktail, and outdoor seating. Probably would have come back had I been staying in Tainan longer than a few nights.
