Went to Yehliu Geopark to see the Queen´s Head and was shocked to encounter Yehliu Ocean World close by. Watched dolphin tanks from a distance. Tanks looked rotten and dolphins kept circling around due to space restriction and typical signs of boredom. Thought nowadays people are educated enough to avoid wildlife amusement shows due to the well-known inappropriate living conditions of captured dolphins. Increadible to believe parents still show animal-abusive practises to their children. Everybody knows that these animals undergo a lot suffering in order to stand their artificial home, deprived of their natural habitat. Sad to see such places still exist in Taiwan. Of course I did not enter Ocean World but I even wish I had not come Yehliu to support this tourist site at all...

Visited here over the weekend during a business trip. It was an easy day trip from Taipei. The rock formations in the Geo Park were very interesting and worth seeing. If it's very hot weather, I suggest going early in the morning for the heat gets too difficult to endure. There are some small shops at this attraction as well as a small aquarium and "sea world" type show. I didn't watch the sea show but say many people attending.

I didn't go through the exhibits but watched the show which is about 1hr! It starts off with divers whom also double up as costumed characters. They perform for about 30mins and then the sealions take stage. This followed by dolphins. The show was of course conducted in Taiwanese and largely educational as the host was focusing on the school groups. I guess it would be exciting for someone who has not seen sealions and dolphins before.

First we went thru the aquarium which i am not a fan of. We had many aquarium visitation before and believe me.. this is one of the abnormally boring one.
Come to the show... there were a bunch of western performer showing off their skills of diving right up to nearly 10 floor high and done lots of funny stuff.. it was really exciting for KIDS.
Then come to doplhin and seal shows.. hmmmmm.. if you haven't seen this before, well you should be awed by it.. for me.. not exciting with a just a very few normal routine performances.
Well... overall. ..if you expect an exciting show.. you will not get it... but just a decent entertaining for mostly the kids and for first timer... ☺

An almost 3 hour ride to visit mushroom like rock formations, forged by water and time.

City grappling for a tourist attraction!

If with extra time, then maybe worth the countryside view.

It is located in the Northernmost tip of Taiwan.
