Le me start with the positives.
1) You can't really beat the location. Just a 3min walk to Zhongshan Junior High School Station (Blue Line). From there, the vast metro system can take you, practically, anywhere you may need to go. Very central to most places.
2) Concierge staff, Kevin, was extremely helpful. Recommended good places for us to eat at. And helped us find out how to get to certain places we were unsure of getting to.
Now the negatives.
1) The rest of the front-of-house staff leave a lot more to be desired for. They are not bothered by your comings and goings. Seemed reluctant to help. On our last day, we were sent off with an, "Ok" after handing over our room key. Not even a goodbye.
2) Breakfast is something you should not pay extra for if it isn't included in the room price. The only saving grace was the toast (toasters are a pain to work, by the way)
3) The rooms aren't soundproof. Had to put up with furniture being dragged around, from the room above, late into the night and loud talking from outside our door.
4) There's only 1 lift, so be prepared to wait during high usage times. Breakfast is served on the 9th floor but the lift only serves up to level 8 (for those with difficulty with stairs).
5) The tumble dryer needs 2 cycles before majority of your clothes are dried. Some were still damp even after the 2nd cycle. Before anything, let it be known that my laundry load was about 3/4 full only. Again, laundry services are on the 9th floor.
6) The toilet/ bathroom glass wall is not frosted with only roller blinds blocking off full view into it from the room. But from certain angles, the inside is still visible.
