Stayed here for 3 nights for business. It is convenient to the light rail but not walking distance to any city attractions or major shopping areas. It is, however, only a short taxi ride away to most anything. The neighborhood seems safe. Rooms are not small but not very big either and they don't have a lot of natural light, small windows. Room amenities are stingy--you get one bar of soap, shampoo, and bath lotion but no moisturizers or anything else. The gym is very small but have good equipment and there's a recreation room with a foosball and pool table. The hotel restaurant is small and the breakfast is nothing special but a good variety to satisfy all tastes--Western, Japanese, and Chinese. Service is good, polite and professional. Overall, this is a nice, clean, and well-maintained facility. The low rates reflect the level of service and amenities. I would recommend this if you're traveling on a budget but want a very comfortable, clean, and convenient place to stay. It's certainly designed for business so, I don't know if I'd stay here for leisure or romance.

The hotel is nore like a one bedroom apartment than a hotel. It has a small lounge, kitchenette and study area. It was more spacious than a hotel room. The room was clean, with free internet and as I was working in the room most of my stay, the hotel served its purpose. It was great to have a huge fridge in the lounge especially in a hot day to store my drinks. There is an adequate gym, laundry and self-laundry facilities onsite. The staff was great and willing to assist at all time.

The hotel is less than 5 minutes away from the MRT station and there is a sufficient restaurants, small food store and some 24hrs convenient store nearby.

Rooms were good sized and had the kitchenette with a couple of bottles of complimentary water restocked every day. The restaurant only served breakfast, and it was a decent buffet, but it didn't start until 7AM, which was too late for me since I had to leave by 6:30AM. There are many restaurants close by and the subway station is only a block and a half away. Taxis are plentiful and cheap and are often waiting at the hotel door.

I was surprised as the limousine that picked me up from the airport stopped in front of the Howard Garden Suites. It did not look like a hotel front! There were no signs except for a small signboard over the entrance and I initially thought the driver had made a mistake. It's part of a residential apartment block with a small and quiet reception area. However the staff is efficient and I checked in without any major hassles. Unlike most hotels, you are issued with a room key. However by the second day, the reception staff was able to recognise me and produced the key even before I asked.

The breakfast is nothing special but adequate. Not much choice for western style breakfast but cereals and bread. More choices for chinese style.

I stayed in one of the corner suites, room 1007 and these rooms are highly recommended. They consist of a sitting room, a bedroom and small kitchenette. Strangely you had to go thru the bedroom to get to the kitchenette. The bathroom cum toilet was big compared to other hotels in Taipei.

The location is ideal for the foodies as there are many food outlets around - western, chinese, food stalls, fancy restaurants, bakeries and 7-11 and the local Taiwanese versions. It's also near an underground station.
