Great stay! I loved this hotel, especially its reception staff. All were so kind, sweet, helpful, and fluent in English - especially Miss Belle, Miss Alvina, Miss Rainnie, who carried luggage, arranged taxis - writing addresses in Mandarin to show drivers, and with taxi numbers to ensure taking the right taxi. Drivers were all polite and communicated well, though only one spoke English. They drove safely. Mr. David and Mr. Shane were also very helpful and welcoming in Reception too. In-room wi-fi Internet service worked great, and Starbucks with wi-fi was very nearby. TV had a number of channels, mostly Mandarin. Only American news offered was CNN. Very clean, with ultra-modern toilets/showers, hair dryer, plenty of towels (but no face cloths), soaps, razors, cotton swabs, and other supplies all free. Rooms had so many free ammenities, snacks, sodas, water, slippers, and cake on arrival. Quiet room, comfortable bed, a desk, and refrigerator. They have an elevator. The breakfast room offers a large hot/cold buffet selection, well prepared, with many healthy vegetables, fruits, nuts, hot foods, soup, cereals, and pastries. I could not believe it all came with the reasonable price of the room. Free coffee, tea, milk, water, and coffee wafers 24 hours-a-day. I felt safe there, even walking alone at night. Good, reasonably priced places to eat are close by - Wendel's for fine dining inside/casual outside in the beer garden, or more casual The Taco Bar, right next to a good Korean restaurant, and a block further a Wine Max (wine bar), an ice cream shop, all within two blocks from the hotel. Convenience store is right nearby on the corner, open late. I want to say big thank-yous to the sweet, helpful reception and breakfast staffs. Be sure you learn the Mandarin words for: hello, good-bye, please, thank-you, and be careful. Using those with a smile, you'll find everyone in the Taipei will go out of their way to help you. Dandy Hotel has reasonably priced airport shuttle service to the airport, about an hour away too, as well as train service. Thank you, very much to everyone at Hotel Dandy! (Shay shay ne!) I hope I spelled Mandarin for "thank you much" correctly. I will look forward to staying there with all of you again. Views of the mountains from the upper floors were so pretty. The staff felt like my friends, after just a five-night stay. I'll surely stay there again.
