spacious room -- we were a family for 4 with older children. hotel had a stubborn stench at the lift lobby -- smelt musty. overall a tired looking hotel. inconvenient location, far away from the city center. vicinity is dead from about 8:30 am, so there's nothing much to do at night, no night markets, shops shut early. front desk short staffed -- just a poor lady trying her best bbut here manager snapped at her for not picking up the phone when guests were asking to be attended to. the only good thing is that if you're planning to go to Juifen, Pingxi, etc, there is a public bus.

Having seen this hotel as I drove by many times on previous trips, I thought I would try it this time. And I was not disappointed. The staff was extremely professional, friendly and helpful - particularly Brenda and Ting. When I asked about a good restaurant nearby, it was suggested I try a seafood place just three minutes walk away - family style. Wonderful food, inexpensive and staff helped even if they did not speak English. I went three or four times and it is worth it. Rooms at the hotel are large compared to most rooms in hotels in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Housekeeping superb - when I went out and came back a couple hours later the room was clean and welcoming.SHuttle service to downtown is so handy and coming back one can take the subway to Taipei Zoo and then take taxi to the hotel - only about NT$110.I highly recommend staying here. Buffet (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) is good but often dishes run out and are not refilled for a long while or not at all.But other than that I rate this hotel very highly.

Room Tip: If you can get a room on the Executive floors, it is worth it.

One of the few times we were feeling less adventurous and entrusted our stay with a hotel chain.

It was predictably better than inns and our stay was uneventful except for one incident when we had to change rooms (I think it was on the first night) because the toilet bowl was clogged.

But insisted on an upgrade to mitigate the inconvenience and we got it!
A huge room with a living area....when it was just me and hubby travelling that time, hehehe.

It was not really centrally located....but taxi and the subway was convenient.

I would probably look for another place if ever we get back to Taiwan.
One that is nearer the city center perhaps.

I have stayed off and on in this property since 2009. This property is located just a little out of Taipei city but goin in there is jsut a 10min drive which is quite convenient and since the location is not in Taipei city, it makes this hotel more resonable in price. Overall everything about this hotel is ok n no complains.
The only problem I have is with the tour groups this hotel takes in. They always have tour groups from China coming in and out on a daily basis which makes it more noisy than normal.
If you decide to stay in this hotel, book a room at the executive floor as the rooms are located on the upper floors and thus more quiet.
In terms of food, you need to walk out or take a cab to the city if you stay in this hotel for more than 2 days as the food offering at the coffee house is just so so.

This hotel is less expensive when compare with other similar level hotels in Taipei city. The main reason may be the location. In fact it is just 30 minutes away from City Hall train station by bus. The 912 bus runs frequently between hotel and City Hall until mid-night. So if your usual travelling practice is to leave the hotel in the morning and return at night, there is not much inconvenience to stay here but you may save 30% of accomodation cost.

There is almost nothing around the hotel for tourist except a big 7-11 which provide all necessities and quite a variety of hot food. They also have a nice sitting area for dining-in. Walking further down the street has several local food shop.

Room is nice and bigger than the rooms in Taipei city. Big beds and TV with a seperate small sitting area. Everything in good condition.

If you want to save some money and enjoy a better hotel in Taipei, I suggest this one to those who are not visiting Taipei for the first time.
