The Tai Ya village in the mountain is very charming, with a restaurant and a simple shop serving the tourists. The highlight is of course the hike to find the ancient, gigantic trees the next morning. It was about 11kms one way, so the hike took us 3.5 hour, plus the time stopping for photos and loo stops. It's just right for an overnight stay. The mountain roads are narrow and winding, hence the control of the traffic. Inbound is after 3pm, after outbound have left. Worth a visit. By the way, the restaurant serves very good food, which you need to book in advance.
