Stayed for 2 nights in Dec 2016 in Loft Room.

The beautiful pictures posted in their website are exactly how lovely Cypress House looks. Loft room was spacious, very clean, neat and well maintained. Fridge, good quality toiletries included.
Breakfast - besides the standard bread and butter choices, they also include freshly prepared local porridge, vegetables and side dishes. The portions are generous and they are happy to replenish if there's any local dishes you like to have more.
Location - It's on the quite stretch but taxi drivers knows this minsu well. No issue to travel back. From Hualien TRA station to minsu is approx. 10min @ NT150 (approx.) and 5-8 min return by taxi from Nightmarkets. It is near 7-11 store and few local restaurants which serve delicious local delights.
Helpfulness - They are efficient and helped arranged local tours. The driver they helped to book for Taroko is very experienced, safe and very considerate (he doubled up as guide to share info on the tourist attractions, history).
We will be happy to return to Cypress for next trip.

We stayed there for 2 nights as our base for exploring Taroko gorge.
The hotel is very nice, clean and though close to a big road, very quiet.

Breakfast is included with fresh fruits, toast & spreads.

From the train station it's a 30min walk or 10min by taxi (~160 NT$). You can also walk to Hualien's main area but this is more a 40min walk.

The hotel also has bikes which you can borrow/rent. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to make use of it but certainly a nice way to come around.

Stayed one night in Deluxe room at S$92.90 through Agoda. Very reasonable rate I should say. Coz the room and most of their furniture are made of Cypress wood. Was told that we went that time having lots of mosquitoes and they advised us to close the door at level 1 all time to prevent mosquitoes. We have to remove the shoes before entering the building. The biggest mistake i made was not telling the minsu that we are travelling with heavy luggages. As they arranged the room for us was at 3rd floor. Can imagine 11 days of luggages and stuffs during Dec were so heavy. But the staff was friendly and nice, lend a helping hand to us to carry it up.

There is water dispenser at level 1 and come with hot and cold water. So will never run out of water. The room is not big but cozy enough still have reasonable walking space around. The room has very pleasant smell of the wood. Really calm the mind.

The breakfast was nice and healthy. It also serve grain milk. Not many minsu that I had went served that.

Will still come back and stay if I visit Hualien again.

I've been back here for the second time. And here is still my favorite BNB in Hualien.
This BNB is high Zen & Japanese style. All the suites here was build with high quality wood. You can even smell the comfortable woody flavor in the air. Very relaxing and delighted.
The room is very comfortable and clean. well equipped and very comfortable. The staff excellent and so friendly.
Breakfast was excellent with Taiwanese food and toast. Very fresh and health. And orange juice, tea, and grain milk.
Once again we enjoyed everything in this bnb offers and all of my family are absolutely satisfied.
A "must" if traveling to Hualien with your family!

Stayed one night in their Deluxe Quad room, which is located in annex building. We have to remove our shoes before entering the building, but this is not required if your rooms are at the main building. Bedroom was spacious for 3pax, and I particularly like the washroom. The furniture and fixtures are mostly made of cypress wood, and the owner also sells other products made of the wood as well.
There are only 2 choices for breakfast, and I chose the Western one. It's simple but they made an effort in food presentation.
Staff were friendly and went the extra mile in providing service. My friends bought some snacks from nearby night market and we requested to cut them into slices. The staff did as instructed, and also warmed the food for us.
The location is about 15 mins away from Ziqiang night market by foot.
