My family and I enjoyed the 2 days stay in Fun House. My 2 teens just love sitting and chatting with Ann at the cosy corner at L2. Lovely host serve us organic breakfast. The place is located in a quiet local neighbourhood. 10mins drive from the place to the train station.

We were a group of two couples - my parents as well as my husband and I. We took 2 rooms - Flushing Paris & Countryside France during our 2 nights' stay.

From the first moment we stepped into the minsu, we felt very welcome by Sherry who made us a nice pot of tea, sat us down and asked about how we would like to spend our day. When we said we wanted to go explore the city centre, she pulled out a map and gave us recommendations on places to eat and for souvenirs.

The next evening, my mum and I decided to try the spa after all the walking at Taroko Gorge the 2nd day. What can I say? The spa was fantastic - I am never one who enjoyed spas since I often feel more pain than relaxed under the therapist kneading strokes. But at Fun House, my joints were loosened and my mind was rejuvenated - wonderful experience there and recommended to book an evening appointment to end your day of walking!

The minsu was very clean and rooms were spacious esp Flushing Paris. One thing to mention, the breakfast is awesome! After stuffing our faces silly at Taipei, we loved the organic, nutritious and healthy breakfasts at a Fun House. It was a perfect compliment to the clean air and beautiful scenery of Hualien!

It was a very enjoyable stay for us - thank you for warmly welcoming us into your lovely home. We had a great time in Hualien!

It has been a very impressive homestay experience for us. We had the most challenging combination, consisting of a young toddler who loves to walk around and a pair of elderly parents who can't walk a lot of steps. The host is very thoughtful to allow us to take the Family room (at no additional cost) and the Mini Provence room on 3rd floor so that we are near to each other. The rooms are very tastefully renovated and well-kept. We are deeply impressed by the organic breakfast which the host provided for us. We were full and satisfied every morning after breakfast, even though it was vegetarian meal. The host and family helped us with some suggestions to our iternary in hualien as this was our first visit. They also helped us to arrange a local tour guide who is knowledgable about hualien and taroka. Even though we did not completely the tour round taroka, the visit to Qixing lake was mind-blowing, the scenic beach and lovely pebbles made us forgot how hot the summer weather was. Though it was just a 3D2N stay, we truly enjoyed this homestay and look forward to other time coming back to hualien and stay here.

The host is a family of 3, speaks good English, and very very hospitable. The place is located in a quiet local neighbourhood, with a short walk to shops and amenities. Its also a short 5-10min drive to the main train-station which goes to Taipei.

If you need a reason to book this place, thats the Breakfast!!! The host makes Excellent breakfast with organic-vegetarian ingredients - gives you all the nutrients and energy that you need to continue your day.

This was our one and only Min Su homestay experience in Taiwan, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in our 3D2N stay, and we have fond memories of the warm Taiwanese hospitality and friendship.

The location of this Min Su is away from the main town area in a suburban district, so we had a little difficulty finding our way there as the cab driver was also not familiar with the actual location. It would therefore be a wiser decision to call the cab company which the lady owner (Sherry) recommends, as they would know exactly how to get there, and at a discounted rate.
Even though the Min Su was away from the main town area, we did not find the location a disadvantage, as we found out that the Min Su was actually beside a magnificent mountain range that brings with it a steady stream of cool and fresh air in the environment. Dotted around the entrance is a pleasant array of potted plants with colourful flowers, a nice way to welcome guests to the Min Su. It is a quaint and quiet neighbourhood, a perfect place to start off our dream vacation.

Sherry offered us excellent hospitality. She gave us good advice on nice, scenic areas within Hualien to tour. Her husband also highlighted for us some must-try food in Hualien, after hearing from us that we were keen to explore some tea houses and street stalls to try some local food. Both mornings, we were welcomed by an invigorating organic breakfast, complete with a nice pot of red tea plus another pot of home-made black soy milk. On the day we visited Taroko Gorge, Sherry was also very gracious to lend my wife her own warm jacket when she realized we were not prepared for the colder temperatures up in the mountain ranges.

The Mini-Provence room which we stayed in was beautiful, with a delightful touch of European décor and ambience. It is not a big room, but it is cosy. Being the only room located on the 4th floor also gave us that added privacy that my wife and I were most grateful for, as it allowed us time to marvel at the wonder of creation plus take some very nice pictures up on our private balcony facing the mountain range and surrounding areas.

Overall, I would say that our stay at Fun House was both memorable and enjoyable. Hualien is a beautiful county, but what really made our wedding anniversary unforgettable was the pleasure of meeting a genuine and gracious family who were not just willing to tell us more about nice places-of-interest in east Taiwan, but who also opened up their home and lives to us in a very sincere and humble manner.

Room Tip: Choose the Mini-Provence room for a good view.
