Stumbled upon this purely by accident enroute to Peggy's Cove. Fresh haddock and fresh cut fries perfectly fried up for a family of 4 cost a mere $ 24. Very tasty meal. Nothing fancy, just plain good food. Noticed many locals ordering food here. This place is only10 minutes from Peggy's Cove but is much better and less expensive than the tourist traps in Peggy's Cove.

These are the gems to find on an ocean road trip. This place uses fresh PEI potatoes for their french fries and fresh haddock for their fried fish. It's authentic and the prices are great. A family meal of 8 pieces of fish and a large bowl of fries runs $24. A 2-piece fish meal with fries is $8. They also have clams and lobster.

We were in Peggy's Cove and stopped by this authentic fish & chip truck for lunch. We had the clams, scallops and a 2 piece meal. The fish & chips were awesome. The ladies allows us to have our scallops without the batter but assured us that the clams would be lightly dusted only. There were 3 varieties of vinegars to choose from which made one of us very happy. They made sure we loved our food and gave us some history on the scallops (theirs were the medium Digby ones and we very tasty). The atmosphere was appropriate for the chip truck. All in all and good lunch.

This is a seasonal little shack that is run by several village ladies who chop up bags of potatoes into true home made chips, and get their fish from the guys who catch it. You order at a counter and can sit on some wood picnic tables out front. No indoor seating. I live down the road towards Halifax and come here for my fish n chips fix as often as possible. The fish is generously portioned with a good, sinful coating, deep fried. The chips are well browned and a good size, not planks, not shoe string. just right. Two 2 piece dinners, with tax included, $16.00. This is fish n chips like I remember as a child. Wish it was open in the winter but there wouldn't be enough traffic to Peggy's Cove to make it worthwhile I guess.
