Pros:

Incredibly relaxing, chilled vibe at this place, couldn't be more distant from the Rat Race
Delicious breakfast
Decor exceptional, lots of extremely imaginative touches
View is beautiful
Lots of private day beds to relax on sheltered from the sun
Cheap rental of scooters, the roads around here are very quiet so we felt safe exploring beaches
French staff very nice and helpful

Cons

Noticeable apathy of Balinese staff particularly at breakfast, which is very untypical as usually Balinese are very warm. We felt like a nuisance whenever we came down for breakfast, and that we were interrupting.
Wifi and internet very slow....but didn't care really as the place is so chilled :)
The pool was a bit murky

Rooms. Bulan vs Tengirri

We stayed 2 nights at Bulan and 3 at Tengirri

Bulan is very beautiful and unique. Be aware it is a bit more exposed to the elements and you may need ear plugs (they are provided). The (very beautifully designed) toilet is located around the back of the bedroom. It is a little bit of a walk which takes a bit of getting used to in the middle of the night! You can see the sea from the door.

Tengirri is more "indoors" and sealed away from the elements. It's also beautiful, the bedroom is smaller, the toilet is next door and closer to reach than Bulans. Tengirri is located at the back of the resort, and is the furthest villa away from the pool and cliff. It's just a short walk however, and Tengirri is very private as a result. There is a kitchenette also. Once more, I loved the outdoor shower although Bulan's outdoor shower is even more spectacular. I'm glad we stayed in both as they are quite different.

I had three day there and was a detoxing experience from Bali crowd.
Easy with good indonesian food and an international breakfast .
If you want to do yoga or surfing on the perfect greedy waves that is a perfect location on top of Bukit

Room Tip: i like the "yoga room "

This place was absolutely breath taking. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face the whole time we stayed. Waking up on a cliff overlooking the ocean was nothing but gorgeous. Definitely coming back to stay here :)

After arriving at midnight & opening our bungalow doors the morning after we simply fell in love with Mu. Everything about this place is perfect; the divine breakfasts, the fragrant towels, abundant areas to sit and be, breathtaking cliff top ocean views, elegant Balinese design at every turn.

The peaceful atmosphere is largely created by the cheerful but unassuming staff. Nothing was ever a problem, and everything just seemed to flow.

We found this place to be ideal for deep rejuvenation, with healthy meals, yoga twice-daily and calming peace and quiet. However, if you want a bit more action there are bikes readily available and a rich Balinese experience is at your fingertips.

Room Tip: Pura was very private with a fabulous outdoor jungle shower

The two of us had 4 nights in the Matahari hut and loved it. This is a place for relaxing, reading, dreaming and soaking in the atmosphere. The huts are made of native materials. The food is home cooked, best muesli we've ever had and freshly baked brioche in the morning to go with your piping hot omelet. We enjoyed spa treatments, yoga, fresh flowers on the bed, impeccable housekeeping, helpful hosts.

NOTE: If you are expecting air conditioning and conventional hotel rooms, don't stay here. The floor plan is open and even though cleverly laid out, everything is in one big room. The indoor shower feels like an outdoor shower, which we loved. Don't miss the chocolate banana cake.

Take care in hiking down to the beach. The stairways can be hazardous. The beach this time of year is secluded and laid back.

We'd love to return.

My husband and I are frequent bali visitors and stayed at Mu for the 1st time in October. this place definitely has the wow factor, is perfect to re-energise the batteries and a feeling of being amongst the 'real bali'. We stayed in the cliff bungalow and the pura bungalow both as beautiful as the other in their own right. Having breakfast in a hut on the edge of the cliff overlooking the surf and hearing the bird song followed by an amazing yoga class held at mu every morning was the highlight of the stay for me... Pure bliss. There was truly nothing like it. The only negative was our treatments at the spa at mu. The staff chit chatted the whole way through my cream hair bath which was very frustrating as you pay top $$$ at this spa compared to others around. All in all a beautiful, relaxing & revitalising stay at Mu. Thanks so much :)

This place has an absolutely amazing view!! However unfortunately that would be the one of the only few good things I would say about this place.

If u want to go and do absolutely nothing then this is the place for you. Breakfast is included and could not believe my eyes when there were literally 100's of bees on ur food. The other guests said don't worry u get used to it after a few days. I could not eat at this place. We ended up buying our own snacks and eating that instead or traveling to singlefin bar and restaurant.

We thought each bungalow would be private however they are very close together.

It was definitely entertaining in the morning waking up with monkeys jumping on the roof and across the cliff edge! The first morning we were worried but the next day we couldn't help but laugh!

This place might be for some however, definitely wasn't for us
