Access to this place is horrid..we spent 2.5 hours to get here from Seminyak, of which 2 hours were spent at the Pecatu area.
The Maps iphone app cant locate the place, Google Maps gave some directions but it used the route through Kelapa which we had to find out ourselves that the access was closed months ago.
Hence, rerouted again, and saw an El Kabron sign in front of of a closed road, luckily there was an El Kabron staff (nice mr Wayan) who took us to the right direction with his bike and told us the access to get to the restaurant.
When we get there around 18:30, the seats outside were almost packed, we took one table, but sat there for only 3 minutes because the wind was blowing so hard, that the trees near the pool looked like they're about to fall.
Inside, we ordered some tapas (grilled shrimp, crispy prawn) and the potato onion omelette. Overall, the food was ok.
The San Francisco mocktail was also ok.
The service was also ok,not much to write about. Saw the manager took the effort in setting up a big pillow for a sleeping kid fir the guests next to us, which is kinda nice.
Environment, ambiance: nice view of the ocean, and excellent sunset view indeed (I will post a pic later).Though I noticed the music seems like a mix of maximum 4 songs (nice ones though, in the vein of Daft Punk) that were played on "Repeat" endlessly.
One last comment, I have to give two thumbs up for people who sat at the outside area while the wind was blowing so hard...it took sheer determination and stamina to sit there :-)
To quote the great AC DC, "For those who sat outside El Kabron in December, we salute you"
Will we come back again? Unlikely, unless the acces is improved, and if we come in non-rainy season with not so strong wind.
