“¡Hola el kabron!”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Was recommended by a friend to check this place out, and had advised to book well beforehand. Chose the bean bag view with a maximum spend. While getting there can be difficult (make sure your driver knows how to get there) the view from the cliff club upon arrival more than made up for it. Nothing short of spectacular. It was even more so as we were given the very front row with uninterrupted views. The food was delicious,authentic- loved the tortilla as it was as good as some that I've had in Madrid, paella very good- and the music very chilled and appropriate. I'd recommend to order your food before the sun sets unless you like to eat your food in relative darkness. Expect a bit of a wait during the busy times , esp. The paella which has a min. 25 minute cook time. Wait staff could be a little more attentive- I had to flag someone on more than one occasion . This is a minor comment.¡Muchisimas gracias El kabron for making this a highlight of my Bali experience so far!

“Nice place to chill, poor service”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Came there this afternoon, and the first thing in my mind was: this is worth the journey. A very good view of the ocean from hill, sunset right in front of my eyes. What else i can say? Beautiful. This is what i am looking for. Challenging road to reach there, is worth the view.

I ordered tortilla and crispy prawn garlic sauce (fritata something) for eat, virgin strawberry mojito and frozen cappuccino for drink (sorry dont really remember the name in spanish).
I asked the waiter, is it deep fried prawn? And he said yes.
After a quite long wait(maybe because there was a lot of guest), then i asked another waiter where is my order. he asked me 'prawn with mashed potato?' I said 'no, prawn with garlic sauce' and he said 'yes, i mean that (smiling) please wait a moment'what came to our table was grilled prawn with mashed potato. I thought it was misunderstanding between me and the waiter, and thats okay. We can still eat that :)

But the final shot happen when i read the bill (hubby pay the bill when i went to restroom). It mentioned: strawberry mojito (which price is of course different with virgin strawberry mojito, and alcoholic drinks. Fyi, i dont drink alcohol, AT ALL, for my health reason), aljillo something (which price is more expensive comparing with crispy prawn i ordered), frozen cappuccino, and tortilla.

Then i asked the cashier. She said, it was what i ordered, but she can do refund. She make sure the one they put in my table was mojito with alcohol. They refund my money. Thank you.

Anyway, the alcohol was not so sharp, so u may in doubt saying it is mojito or virgin mojito. May i suggest, do have ur order repeated by the waiter before they put it to kitchen.

This is a well run bar restaurant. The food was tapas style with great variety and every serve was excellent.
Fab bar with extensive range of cocktails and icy cold beer!

“Worst paella ever”
Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

We had dinner at el kabron, four of us. We ordered paella de marisco, after more than 30 minutes finally our food were served. It was look good in presentation, but unfortunately the rice was not cooked well and it turn me had problem ok my stomach. The owner came to us, and asked how was the food and we said that the presentation was good but the rice wasn't cooked well. And he said that we were look ok with finishing the rice. My friend said we did not ask for replacement but commenting on what we had. Not a recommended place to enjoy your evening nor your sunset... The effort to get here and the price that you have to pay plus the quality of the food were not equal. I wont get here again. Not even recommended. NPS score 2

“Best sunset ever!”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

A must go in bali. As an spaniard i can say that i was totally impressed with the food quality, it was better than excellent, congratulations to el kabron and his great staff.
Go at least 1hour before the sunset to get a nice spot, we went there twice and will go back again tomorrow if we could.
The only but is that you may find it a bit expensive (20/30usd budget depending on what you order, wine not included), if you are looking for quality-price places, then we definately recommend to visit el kabron at least once.
Gracias
