“Beautiful rooms. (Especially the Bathroom)”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

Lovely rooms, very earthy and comfortable. The bathroom though was the highlight... giving you an almost open air experience in the privacy of your room. The shower is built like a little waterfall with pebbled and stoned flooring.

Outside the room, you have a private sun-bed, which is where we spent most of the day at the hotel, reading or just generally lying down.

The Italian food is excellent... and the staff, pretty sweet and helpful.

All in all, a great experience.

Room Tip: Donno about the first floor rooms, but the ground floor, pool facing room that we had, was lovely.

A very nice place in which to relax. Big, comfortable rooms, clean, inviting swimming pools and lovely gardens. Had a seaview suite and loved it. Close to beach and a couple of nice cafes. For reliable transport, try Tory who lives nearby (just past mango cafe). Pink coco do not budge on prices, even when you walk in late afternoon. Booking.com had cheaper prices than hotel website.

We spent 12 days at the Pink Coco in December 2012. Really impressed with the management and staff. We had air-conditioned room with views to Sea - large room, bed very comfortable - ample bathroom with bamboo style shower. Restaurant provided good variety of styles from Japanese to Italian and of course Balinese. Juices were amazing!
The real stars were Lusi and Daisy in the office - excellent service and went out of their way to make our stay one to remember. Local restaurant, Padang Padang something run by Eric also excellent for b-b-qued prawns - best by a mile!

Room Tip: Go for upstairs room if want AirCon and views.

Pink Coco is tucked away at lovely Padang Padang beach, it's an easy 5 min walk and if you like a challenge walk to Uluwatu.... Head off early morn as it gets quite hot.
The rooms are basic but very comfortable, some with sea views and aircon. They clean daily, provide drinking water and change the towels every second day.
The restaurants are very convenient and have a great selection of local, Japanese and Italian dishes. Some are good value and some overpriced.
There are 3 pools to play in, take your pick depending on whether you want shade, sun or peace and quiet.
The staff, location and surrounds make for a happy holiday. This place reminds me of Bali 20 years ago, full of charm, cute warings and lots peace and quiet.

We stayed 18 lovely days at the Pink Coco hotel, which is a gem on the Buckit peninsula. It's a real down to earth hotel, perfect compromise for a couple where one loves surfing and the other to lie by either of the two lovely swimming pools. We stayed our first night in a standard room but after the first night of heat upgraded to one with aircon. Both rooms where lovely, clean and well stocked, not to mention despite our desire to upgrade on short notice every one was so helpful. Jojo the manager himself always seems to be to hand, and is great for giving advice, maps and directions to great surf spots, not to mention they have scooters you can hire too. The ladies on reception Daisy, Lucy and Leonie were also very helpful through out our stay. Especially at the end when I was sick, they called a doctor to come out and arranged a later check out and just did everything possible to help. We really enjoyed our stay here and would come back in a heartbeat. The reception now sells bottled water so you don't have to buy from the restuarent. The restuarent itself is lovely with a wonderful mix of foods and prices, there is something for every one there. There are also plenty of warungs in close proximity visit, you'll be spoilt for choice. I would highly recommend this gem to any one looking to stay down south away from the hustle and bustle. The manager is brilliant at producing positive outcomes from his feedback, and I can only see it going from strength to strength. Thank you Pink Coco.

Room Tip: I don't think there's a bad room in the place!

I've stayed here twice on surf-trips and loved it each time. I've given it a 5-ratings (now,, this doesn't mean you should expect an Aman or Alila resort quality like some other reviewer..) because the quality and services you get for less than USD100/night is amazing.
The rooms are extremely spacious, easily double what one gets in many surf-hostels/whatever nearby. Same goes for the toilets: very spacious (not a little neon-lighted square like in the hostels) and clean (i've yet to see a roach).
You get airconditioning, a flat-screen TV with various HBO and news channels (great when resting your sore muscles) and wi-fi.
Lastly there's a great Italian (and now international) trattoria restaurant that does deliver to the room.
Highly recommended.

Looking for a hotel on a beach for our last four days in Bali we booked this hotel. We normally budget around $40 per night, and get good accommodation for this price, but decided to splurge a bit after reading the reviews. What a sad disappointment it turned out to be. I thought we had come to just a restaurant until I found the receptionist cubicle. Accommodation is behind two western restaurants but don't expect a great deal of help getting your luggage up the fifty or so steps into your room. The room is concrete, the furnishings are concrete, even the bed base is concrete. No Balinese influence here. No phone in the rooms so apparently no room service. No place or facility to hang wet clothes to dry them. No reading lights near the bed, the only light over the bed was so dim that I had to use a torch to read by. There is a fridge but nothing in it so I went down to reception to get some drinks. It would be sensible for reception to have a drinks fridge for the convenience of guests if they don't want to provide a mini bar but no I was pointed towards the restaurant. The restaurant wanted $2.30 for a 0.80c bottle of water! I did eventually manage to get some drinks down the road a bit. Didn't eat at either of the restaurants in the hotel after this episode so don't know what they are like. There was a very unpleasant septic smell in our room from the bathroom during our entire stay. This hotel claims it is five minutes from Padang Padang beach, well a fast five minute walk down the hill (not up) might bring you to the top of the several hundred steep steps down to the beach. My advice is not to come here, we couldn't wait to leave and we certainly won't be back.

Jojo M, Hotel Manager at PinkCoco Bali, responded to this review, November 30, 2012
Dear sir,

First of all i am so sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. We always try to help and please as much as possible but this time we could not meet your expectations. We apologize for this. Let me though clarify some points for future readers and customers.
PinkCoco started as a surfer hotel that in time has attracted other type of customers . We are a nice 3 star hotel, obviously with limited services. We dont have bellboys as such but any of us when free we like to assist and carry luggages. Just to clarify the room where you stay on the first floor has exactly 20 steps not 50 as you mentioned.
The hotel and the room have been designed by the Mexican architect Jose Manuel Martinez and thats why has a lot of cement features which is characteristic of Mexico. This architect has designed top 5 star hotels in Mexico like Banyan Tree Mayakoba.
The Management decided to provide an empty fridge so that everyone could buy their own drinks and save some good money instead of we buying the goods and charge a profit for it. There are shops just a few meters from PinkCoco.
Is correct that to access the rooms you need to pass by the restaurants and pools, which is something quite simple and normal in many hotels.
You are right when commenting that there is no reading lights next to the bed, but you forget to mention that we have day beds and sofas out in the terrace with reading lights and free internet.
Is correct that we are just 5 minutes to the beach of Padang Padang, and you are right when you commented that you need to access to the beautiful beach of Padang2, thru an amazing staircase thru huge rocks . And by the way this was the beach where Eat, Love and Pray from Julia Roberts was filmed, and where the famous yearly surf contest Rip Curl Bali takes place, with some of the most amazing surf waves in Bali.
We are not perfect, but we always try our best, and if you would have told us during your stay that you needed a new room, or just an early check out because you felt this place did not suit your style we would have helped, but you never told me anything, not even upon your departure.
I feel is not fair to make comments that can affect the hotel i manage and all my colleagues if i dont give my point of view too.
I respect your opinion and hopefully i can welcome you again and try to do anything possible to please you next time. If you plan to come again please let me know personally and i will take care of your booking.

With best regards,

Jojo Munthe
