My daughter, wife and i had the good fortune to have visited this place upon our driver's advice for a lunch after having visited Uluwatu Cliff.

This was as recent as 7th of this month, a couple of days ago only.

It would be no exaggeration on my part to say that this is one of best experiences of my life when i am an avid traveller well exposed to many countries. Just about everything looked like a perfect setting and the food was easily the best in this Indonesia-Malysia trip.

Went there to admire the famous dreamland beach but we were very dissapointed. We were not hotel guests so they asked for 100k IDR per person as a minimum charge for spending. Access to the pool is an extra charge as well. Food is pricy but taste is just average. The ridiculous service fees, minimum spending and extra charges ruined the nice view. Beach is much smaller than I expected. Seriously, it does not worth your time and money traveling all the way there. The taxi costs around 150k IDR each way from discovery mall to Kalpa or dreamland beach. You can have fun in any beach nearby and have better meal in many other restaurants. Wouldn't recommend to go unless you are staying at the nearby resorts.

Driver told us that Dreamland is a nice beach in Uluwatu so we agreed to be taken there. All the way we notice a huge change happened with the quiet area of Uluwatu. Nothing quiet about the area any more as far as we can see and we feel a bit disappointed. However entering the man made area, with the biggest if not famous golf course, can't remember which one is which now, we just try to enjoy our ride. In order to get to the beach we have to go thru Klapa Lounge. We have to pay 100k rupiah per person as our so called 'entrance ticket'. For swimming pool, it cost 30k which include towel, this cost is deducted from the ticket. Any food ordered, goes the same way. However we cant ask our money back if we don't spend 100k, you have to spend it and pay the difference. The swimming pool is considered small. Changing room is dirty and smelly. The worst part was when you want to rent a locker, you have to pay a deposit of 50k, this one is not deducted from the ticket, you have to pay in cash in the restaurant near the changing room. Then you have to bring your receipt to the towel counter which is on the opposite way to get the locker key. And then you will go back down to the restaurant side, where you pay for your locker key, to get to the changing room to get to your locker... It goes the same way when you need to return the key by the way.. So i voice up, at both counter, of my comment on what a bad service of asking guest to do all this just for a locker key, the answer was this is the system, please understand! will do.. wont do it for the second time mind!! The building looks new but it is not well maintained so it's rusted and ugly. Bad service is just another down side of this place.

Great view & swimming pool experience is great! There is a BIG "But"... i really hate going down the bathroom to change or shower... last time I went there, it has this fishy smell like pee.. just very unpleasant. It doesn't make you feel like you're in high-class venue. Old wooden door (which they should add another extra door because many chinese tourists going naked walking around from locker to shower place and they don't really close the main door entrance and guys' bathroom is just next door and guys can easily get a sneak peek into the ladies' and this is NOT GOOD/NOT CLASSY at all..), also old wooden lockers (I'm scared to put my stuff inside-feel like in a village), smelly toilet, wet floor everywhere, it feels like in a buget-dormitory shared bathroom. Old interior, and Seriously....it was obvious the place was POORLY maintained. I wish the manager could've done a better job maintaining the place, really! When you get to see the amazing view like that, you'd expect clean bathroom and hygiene is very important esp when they have facility for shower. I wouldn't recommend people to go there, not until they renovate the bathroom!!! people go there for swimming and enjoying the view and they should be able to change and shower conveniently so they can have good experience overall. There are so many beach clubs with swimming pool and a great view and access down to the beach, like Karma/Finn's/El Kabron etc. If Klapa doesn't improve their maintenance, I'm scared they will lose against those other beach clubs! So to be honest, I wouldn't recomment people to go there, since they can go to better beach clubs.
