My husband and I booked the Sunset Bungalow for 3 nights and wish we would have booked for longer! Mick's is a beautiful place. It sits right at the top of the cliffs to Bingin Beach (so it's a bit of a trek to get to the beach, but not as bad as people say it is. It takes all of 4 or 5 minutes tops) and you get a 180 degree view of ocean, surf breaks and Balinese landscape. I'm glad we didn't write our review with our first impressions becuase we had expected a little more "luxury" but that's not what we came for really. That being said, we had had a looooong day of traveling (flights delayed, missed connections, etc. etc.) so we were a couple hours late but arrived just in time for sunset at Mick's, which really is hard to beat. We just wanted to chill and that's exactly what Mick's offered. A perfect place to chill, relax, hit the beach, lay by the pool and read. The sunset bungalow doesn't lie, you can watch the sunset from your room, but why not enjoy it from the infinity pool with a Bintang in hand?!?

The downside and the reasons we couldn't rate it a 5, were because the lighting is quite poor in our bungalow (literally hard to see at night), but it could be worse with no electricity. We wished they had more of a variety of drinks, although we love Bintang and enjoyed just having that since that's all they offered...you can always go down the path or on the beach for other drinks if you so desire. As with any open-air bungalow privacy isn't the highest priority, and we wished the bathrooms were a little less "open". And lastly we wish that they had better security. We were a bit worried about our laptops because there's no where to lock them up as the security box is quite small (fit our ipad, phones, passports, etc. just fine!) so leaving them in our room without any locks and wide open walls was a bit uncomfortable. But we left with all our stuff, so no problems there in the end.

But the good far outweighed the bad!!! Mick's has amazing views, close to a great beach, infinity pool, beer, good food, great and friendly staff, the owners stay on the property and are super cool, perfect for surfing (not for the novice however, go to Dreamland beach for that). People had said that the beach was bad, but in all honesty it's a great sand beach, going in the water is a bit of a difficulty because of rocks and reef, but you can and should go in. We took a taxi to padang padang beach (10 minutes away) but should have rented a scooter same price for an all-day scooter as a one-way taxi fare! Padang Padang was nice, but pretty crowded, lots of people selling things which is both great if you want it and somewhat annoying after the 10th time they ask you if you want to buy something. Bingin on the other hand was mostly locals and super chill. Only people trying to sell things are women selling sarongs and massages. Like I said, the food at Mick's was great! Breakfast was included and really tasty. We had dinner there 2 nights and our compliments to the chef, definitely worth eating!!! The third night we had a fish BBQ on the beach at one of the local hangouts at Bingin and it was so good.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Sunset Bungalow and I would rate that the best view of all the bungalows. Some of t...

We stayed here for 5 nights after spending 2 nights at Acacia Bungalows(also owned by micks place) and after absolutely LOVING acacia and the privacy, was wondering how micks place would compare! Micks place was absolute paradise, you dont get the Hot water and aircon that you do at acacia, but nothing compares to waking up to that view every morning. My husband absolutely LOVED the surf, we met some amazing people, that became good friends and the staff, Putu & Ketut..Made & Ava at the spa were all just amazing! We can't wait to come back again, and again! Thanks to Bali Retreats & Micks Place for an amazing holiday..I couldn't speak more highly of you all! THANK YOU

I'm hesitant to write this review as I'm worried that it will be even harder to get into next year! Positioned between Impossible's surf break and Dream land surf break meant that I was able to relax around the pool while my husband surfed. We stayed in the tree house bungalow for 3 nights and it was like waking up in a fairytale every morning looking out from the bed to see the ocean. If you are looking for something away from the normal hotel room experience this is for you! We also hired a scooter and rode to Padang Padang and Uluwatu. Ketut and the girls cook great food and there are other local places to eat both at the top of the cliff and warongs down on Bingin beach.

We stayed at mick's for 9 nights as part of our honeymoon. This was the perfect no stress place to relax and enjoy a lovely part of Bali. We stayed in the ocean bungalow for 7 nights and the honeymoon villa for the final 2.

The ocean bungalow accommodation was basic, which for us added to the experience and charm. However, the view you wake up to each morning is incredible, especially if you surf. The area bungalow and other areas were clean and felt safe. The meals, bintangs and spa treatments were very reasonably priced. Due to the set up micks is a social place to stay and we met some lovely people over breakfast or sunset beers and shared tips about places to visit etc. there are only 5 bungalows on site which means that it is generally really quiet during the day, especially as they seem to discourage families with small children.

The staff are really friendly and up for a bit of a laugh which was nice to see and added to the character of the place. The service was great and they could not have been more helpful.

The honeymoon villa was an amazing experience with its own separate private area, infinity pool over looking the surf and generally higher standard than the bungalows. This made for the perfect end to our trip. It was more expensive than the ocean bungalow but was well worth it!

There is not a huge amount to do in Bingin itself other than surf or relax on the beach or by he pool. However it is in expensive to hire a driver or scooter to explore the surrounding area. If you get a scooter drive carefully!!!!!

We would highly recommend micks to anyone who wants a chilled out break staying in a beautiful location. Especially for couples where one or both of you surf. We will be booking for next year

We stayed in the honeymoon suite. Breath taking views of the ocean. Service was amazing. The only problem was that it is hard to find. Highly recommend this venue! It will not disappoint! Will be going again next year!

So glad that the accomodation we had booked fell through and that Sascha managed to squeeze us in here for a few nights and we had a few nights at Big Barrels.
Micks place is so beautiful. We didn't meet Mick, but Sascha is a lovely host and her new pooch is adorable. We had the 2 bedroom hut which is in the middle which is huge, with a big open living are where you can pull down the blinds. We love it here as the view is amazing to check out the surf. Each morning we were served an amazing breakfast in the bale and had a beautiful chicken satay dinner one night, where after we sat around with the other guests playing the guitar, a sing along and a few beers. I had a manicure and pedicure which was just heaven looking out to this view. We have stayed in Bingin previously and it is a trek down to the beach. There are some good restaurants down on the beach and at night they cook fish freshly caught which is delicious. The Walnut Tree up from the beach is lovely and they serve great lattes!!!! The beach is quite rocky so some reef shoes to wear in the water is a good idea. The surf was fantastic for my husband and children and each day they could check it out from the pool.A taxi ride into Padang Padang only costs a few dollars and Trattoria is a great Italian restaurant. The staff at Micks are lovely and are always busy but never in your face. Next year (if they will have us back!!!!) we would visit here at the end of our trip, as it is so relaxing. Bingin is a magical place where the locals are so happy and lovely. We hope Bingin always remains the same. Thanks again, see you next year. We also stayed at Big Barrels in Bingin, Lembongan Reef Bungalows in Nusa Lembongan, Echoland at Changuu and The Pelangi in Seminyak. We visited an orphanage which was an amazing experience. Checkut my reviews

Stayed here last weekend Friday through Monday in the Honeymoon Villa. Seamless service, great food and juices, beautiful and spacious villa and views that are surely the best in Bali.
Surfed out front at Bingin each day and then we relaxed by pool, in pool, on day bed, sun lounges and dining pavilion overlooking that panorama, wow! One thing that struck us was every time we turned our back on the view and then returned, it was; how lucky are we? We surveyed other accommodation prior to booking and couldn't find anything that comprised a view, high end accommodation, on the surf with that tropical island feel. Special mention to the women who massaged and ...cured us too, book in with them now. Mick's set up is incredible, from kitchen at the rear and spilling down to the villas and pool. Mick's has it all.

Highly, highly recommend staying at Mick's Place, Bingin Beach, Bali, Indonesia.

Room Tip: Honeymoon villa private and spacious but more expensive. Other villas look great too.
