Mick’s Place is one of those special places where immediately upon arrival the stresses of everyday life disappear. This moment occurred when I first soaked up the amazing views of the Indian Ocean atop Bingin Beach, where Mick’s place is perfectly perched. I’ve visited many cliff top resorts/hotels/restaurants in Bali and hands down, this is the best view I’ve come across. The staff at Mick’s (Mick and Sascha included) are lovely, we felt at home with their welcoming hospitality.

We stayed in the treehouse for a week and absolutely loved it. The elegantly rustic open plan bungalow was simple yet super comfortable. I lapped up the opportunity to catch up on sleep in the super comfy bed (and I’m fairly fussy when it comes to slumbering). Hearing the waves crashing from the bungalow’s hammock was a definite highlight.

The location is far enough away to truly relax, yet close enough to explore the Bukit and most parts of the island. Town is an inexpensive 30-40 minute taxi ride away also, should you feel that way inclined. Decent cafes/restaurants are available nearby, however we chose to eat the majority of our meals onsite because the food was delicious. My lunch favourite was the hearty salad served with kidney beans, sprouts and a generous portion of healthy treats.

We spent our days soaking up the ocean views from the infinity plunge pool, lounging and swimming at the beach (although unlike many others, the only surfing I mastered was browsing the internet on their free wifi). Maybe next time!

If you require a special location to replenish your energy levels, with genuine & friendly hospitality, stay at Mick's.

Honeymoon villa is the place to stay! Private plunge pool that over looks a perfect left hander that goes for miles! Offers every luxury including a bed big enough for 8 people, meals served in your room, a massive bath in an outdoor bathroom that shares the same view as the plunge pool, a Bose iPod dock and access to a world class surf break! What else do you need??!!! Staff really friendly, and mostly invisible and the food and service exceeds all expectations. 10 /10 for romantic ambience. Highly sort after property so book in advance.

We went to Mick's place on recommendation from a couple of friends.
We stayed in the Honeymoon bungalow and loved it. Adored it actually. The room itself is pretty simple - a bed (big bed), a fridge, tv and dvd player and aircon. It is the only room on the resort (if 6 huts can be called a resort!) that has hot water and air con.

This is why this room is more expensive than the other huts. Oh, and the private infinity pool with the view! That was simply incredible. You just cannot tire of a 180 degree view of the sea with amazing sunsets every evening. We didn't leave the villa for the 3 days we were there because we didn't need to. Sitting in that pool, or beside it, all day everyday chilling with the best views i have ever experienced was amazing. Breakfast is included but you can also have lunch and dinner in the hotel (which they will bring to the villa). Prices for lunch and dinner are very reasonable and the food is great. The staff are super friendly too

In summary: if you want to be away from all the hustle and bustle and truly relax in peaceful surroundings with fantastic views, this is definitely the place for you.

Micks place was one of our 5 small resorts we were visiting while staying in Bali and before heading Lombok. Stayed there last month just for 2 nights (would have stayed more if i could!)
Went to micks after checking out from The Temple Lodge just nearby.

Micks place is a small resort with 6 bungalows only, on top of the cliff at Bingin Beach. The resort is suitable only for adults and young adults above 12yrs old, which for me is peaceful just thinking about, i'm on holidays and don't want some gross kids from others shouting everywhere in my front.

The views are absolutely stunning, you can simply seat down and stay petrified looking to that 180º sea view ! Your spirit stays calm just relaxing and enjoying those amazing views....
The sunset is amazing out here, don't miss it !

We stayed at the Ocean, for me was the best bungalow in the resort. Lots of space and totally open to the sea !
There is also honeymoon bungalow and tree house, also good choices.

The staff are genuine balinese people, they are from the local village and try always to help you.

The pool is small but for 6 bungalows total in resort its ok.
They don't have hot water, but who cares about hot water with 31ºC / 81ºF of temperature outside?!

Breakfast is prepared for you in the morning and dinner is prepared with local food, bought early in the morning.

Rent a motorbike if you want to enjoy the best of the island in the the south.
The south area is quiet and has less traffic than other places in Bali, so just enjoy and don't stay prisoner of the resorts not getting a motorobike as cheap as USD$5 per day

Explore the south, there are amazing desert beaches around.
Visit padang-padang beach (Thomas Beach), just after padang beach and heading uluwatu temple.
Visit Jimbaran beach and don't miss balangan beach also.
Dreamland (new kuta) does not worth to go. Bingin beach is mostly for surfers were accommodation is as low as 5 bucks/night
Explore those beaches around bvlgari resort.

This place is the most beautiful place that I've ever been in my whole life! It's like heaven! Waking up with the sound of waves, breathless sunset, amazing food and very nice staff! My husband and I went there on our honeymoon and I look forward to come back as soon as possible!

My husband (who is an avid surfer) stayed at Mick's Place Bingin to celebrate 13 years of marriage. It was a great place to do this. The individual huts are great, super clean, and private, and the cold water only doesn't effect your experience in this special place. The surf views are to die for, the staff are very friendly and so helpful. We really enjoyed the food and is made fresh daily. The pancakes were a favourite!

We stayed in the garden hut which is great and the cheapest but would also recommend the sea view and the honeymoon (air-con, hot & cold water and private pool) ones as well. I am not a surfer but I enjoyed myself just lying around the beautiful wet-edge pool and Uluwatu is only a short taxi ride away for some night life and restaurants.

I would recommend the masage at Mick's (Made is amazing) and also the pedicure too and only $20AU.

Can't wait to go back next year!! Thanks Mick, Sasha, Ketut, Made, Suli, and all the great staff.

Room Tip: Choose the Honeymoon for luxury, or the Tree House for extra privacy. Otherwise all rooms are great!

For us, this is the most perfect place we have ever stayed. The last three days of our honeymoon were spent at Micks honeymoon bungalow. The jewel in the crown is the surf watch view down the length of the west coast bukit. Sitting on the top of the cliff the view is stunning from first light to sunset to the twinkling of the fishing boats on the horizon throughout the night. Apart from going to surf, we couldn't bring ourselves to leave the villa. We contemplated Cire restaurant for our last night but didn't beleive the view or setting could be beaten. There is free wifi, DVD hire, an IPOD dock which can be brought outside to the bale, the fridge has plenty of beers and cold drinks and the plunge pool is a perfect temperature. The breakfast and lunch menu is good and prices are reasonable. There is only one option for dinner, however there are many restaurants along the beach to choose from for more variety and good prices. Taxi transport is expensive; moto hire is a better option. Overall we loved it and can't wait to return!
