My wife and I booked a ride with Go Buggy on February 4th. They offer several routes, but we picked the back-country Mountain Tour. For over 3 hours, we raced over the trails and back roads of Costa Rica, visitng secluded beaches, river bottoms, and hill sides that gave us views of miles and miles of coastline. We visited an off-the-beaten-path cattle town, that most tourists never get to see, and stopped off at their local watering hole. Our tour guides even managed to find a huge mango tree--full of howler monkeys in the middle of nowhere. We can't say enough about this company. Their machines are far supperior to the one you can rent with other tour companies. Their buggys are so much smoother and more stable that the run-of-the-mill 4 wheelers that other companies provide. And because of the way they are built, you can fit 2 people in them, side by side. But the thing that makes this company really top-knotch is their guides. Gene, Nick and Eddy know the dozens of miles of back roads and trails like no one else. They stop every so often to let you take pictures, or to ask questions. Highly recommended. This is by far the most exiting thing we did during our 3 weeks in Costa Rica.

After 3 weeks in Costa Rica, I was starting to get borded with walking the beach and swimming in the ocean everyday. So I decided to try a mountain dune buggy tour. You see a number of 4 wheel ATV's around, which did not excite me much, but the dune buggys really seems to capture the excitment of back woods (or in the case of Costa Rica the jungle). It was just an absolute blast following back roads and trails to secluded areas, beaches and other locations. It is amazing how much of the local Costa Rica community lives in these back areas. My tour was guided by the 3 owners (who frankly, knew the area like the back of their hand) and during breaks they were able to provide tremendous insight to the local culture and business environment. Sharing their love of Costa Rica and dune bugging was just an absolute pleasure. I would recommend this ride to everyone, I may infact, go again, it was just that much fun.

This tour is a must if you want fast dirty action. We went up hills, down hills and through the jungles. We also sa monkeys. THe buggys are fun and easy to operate. The tour guides were fun but also concerned about everyones safety. We even stopped at a little outdoor bar and had a drink. ...My 17 year old son had a blast driving.

This had to be our favorite time in Costa Rica! We had come off the rainforest and were staying at the beach for only a couple days. We took the two hour trip, just drove around back dirt roads to see hidden private beaches. The buggies were easy enough to handle, the boys were so helpful in guiding us! We had a couple stops and they told us about local fruits they were finding from the trees for us to taste. They even found us monkeys! haha because we had gone our whole trip without seeing any yet. It was an amazing way to get around and see some secluded beaches, while getting a little dirty. Absolutely MUST DO if you are anywhere in the area.

A great way to explore the back roads of Guanacaste! Gene and Edie were great guides and so resourceful in fixing a couple of breakdowns, which we didn't even mind. Lots of fun driving through the dirt and rivers. Wish the waterfall had been running more, but we will have to return during the rainy season to see that. Highly recommend!
