“Home from home!”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

I came across the Slides Farm site when searching for a B&B break as a surprise birthday treat for my wife. Well, what a find!! We absolutely loved the place & our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer!!
Never felt more welcome when away from home...Eileen was such a friendly host, it was like being welcomed home!
The rural farmhouse accomodation was immaculate, comfortable & modern. The sliding bedroom door opens on to a lovely patio area with seating to enjoy the stunning views & deafening tranqulity! There's only 2 bedrooms here (adjoining) so its never going to be noisy with other guests. Our en-suite room was luxurious & very spacious, decorated to a high standard & included Sky TV.
When we returned from our evening meal out, Eileen had placed a bottle of port, some chocolates & a personalised card on the dresser - a lovely touch!
We put in our breakfast order for a full english the night before, but when it came to breakfast time, we didn't fancy a fry-up, just cereal & toast - this was no problem for Eileen, who was just concerned that we'd had enough to eat, bless her!
We hope to return one day (when they'll be 3 of us :-)

Room Tip: There's only 2 rooms, our's was excellent & the other one looked it too!

This is one of the very nicest places we've ever stayed. Eileen is the most friendly and accommodating host one could ever hope to come across while away from home. The choices for breakfast are vast and interesting as well as being extremely tasty, nutritious and well made. The bed is comfortable, the rooms are stylish without being stuffy and the option to sit in the sunshine outside ones room and look over the rolling hills is the added bonus. We could not fault anything during our three night stay and will definitely be back to this particular place.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend recently. We had high hopes due to all the brilliant reviews on here, yet were still blown away by the excellent room, hospitality and breakfasts! Eileen is everything you could wish for and more in a host and even sent us home with home-baked bread for the journey home!
It is just a short drive from Bodiam Castle (although we went to the pub because it was too cold to be walking around!) as well as from various pubs/restaurants which are great value for money. We personally would recommend John's Cross Inn/The Black Pig and would advise booking!
Thank you Eileen for making our stay perfect.

Slides Farm B&B is excellent and very resonably priced! We have stayed at Slides Farm on several occasions and will be back again. We would have no hesitation in recommending Slides Farm to anyone. The accommdation is spotless, the room spacious, the bed so comfortable, the breakfast choice varied and delicious, there are attractive views from the bedrooms and a sitting out area, some lovely walks from the doorstep, the location is handy for visits to a variety of sights and attractions, and Eileen is the perfect host.

My partner and I needed a short weekend break away from our hectic London life...we were looking for accommodation in Sussex as it's such a short and easy trip by train. What a find, to come across Slides Farm B&B, it really is an amazing place to stay, and it certainly ticked all the boxes for the relaxing weekend we needed.
Eileen and Mike are fantastic hosts, so courteous and accommodating, helpful and friendly! They gave us great suggestions for local walks we could try, and prepared some printed maps for us specially.
The room we stayed in was wonderfully comfortable, and immaculately presented.
Breakfast was devine, though it was a challenge deciding what to have from the large and all entirely delicious sounding menu!
Would absolutely recommend Slides Farm B&B!!

Most fantastic two night stay at this super B&B near Bodiam Castle. I would say it was more like a serviced apartment rather than just a b&b as we had our own front door, hall and dining room where we had breakfast and where there was a fridge with mineral water, kettle etc and nice nibbles.

Our room was huge and very stylish with the most stunning countryside views and walks just outside the door. Comfy bed, lovely linen luxury toiletries from The White Company. Quality deep bath, not plastic, with shower over in large modern bathroom, nice white fluffy towels.

Delicious breakfasts with the farm’s own eggs collected that morning, great local free range bacon, black pudding, sausages and although we didn’t try them things like smoked salmon and smoked haddock etc.

Charming and thoughtful hostess and lovely little dog! A really super find and we will be back with friends in the summer when we can make use of the lovely terrace.

Spent an excellent weekend relaxing at Slides Farm and despite the snowy weather we were lovely and warm in the well appointed room. Stunning location only a stones throw from Rye and other places of interest. Nothing too much trouble for Eileen who made us feel very welcome. The breakfasts were outstanding! Would definitely recommend this B and B.
