My partner took me and our 2 children to Slides for a weekend at the end of July for our anniversary. We wanted to stay somewhere reasonably priced, not too far from home and somewhere the kids could play safely. I was expecting a regular B&B on beautiful grounds so I was completely surprised and quite overwhelmed that this place turned out to be so luxurious with everything you could need to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
The room we stayed in had a king size bed and enough room for our travel cot and a roll out bed which Eileen kindly supplied and there was still enough room to swing 4 or 5 cats!! The room was contemporary and neutrally decorated but to a very high standard and quality and had a really warm feel to it. There was a flat screen tv, huge bathroom equipped with all the things you may have forgotten to pack; toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash etc
There was a sliding door which opened onto a patio with a bench and table and chairs, we watched a couple of sunsets which were beautiful. The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. To our right was a field of sheep and there were chickens that used to walk by us every now and again that my daughter who is 2 was fascinated with. We fed the ducks too!
The breakfast menu is one of the most extensive menus I have ever seen; everything you could possibly want and everything tasted amazing (especially the freshly laid eggs). We dined in a kitchen like room, there was just no sink or cupboards but a small fridge for anything you might want to bring with you; drink, snacks etc. There was also complimentary bottles of water and Kettle chips.
Eileen really is the icing on the cake and she will do all she can to make your stay go as smoothly as possible. She is a very warm person and is very knowledgeable about where to go in the area and where is child /family friendly which was very helpful for us.
I will be returning to Slides and have recommended it to all my friends and family.
