We had booked a room at Glenview for 2 nights. We were given the Kurumba hut. The room itself was dirty (the bed was full of insect wings, the toilet dirty) and we had to ask them to clean up the room before we could settle in.

The food took ages to be served (minimum an hour between the time you place your order and when they serve you). Dinner was served only at 9:45 pm by when we had asked for dinner 3-4 times and we were really starving. We had no option but to stay in and wait for the food as there are no other options around. The food itself was terrible (so our wait was not even worth it)

On enquiring about the activities of the place, they said that there were no activities available (the safari was cancelled by the forest authorities - don't blame the resort for this, but they had a bonfire but no barbeque or anything of the sort)

By dinner time, my husband was running a fever and had quite a bad cold. Considering the place are very remote and not well connected, we expected that they would atleast have the basic first aid kit, medicines etc. However, they could not even provide us with a basic paracetamol tablet for the fever.

Then came time to sleep. Unfortunately, we were in the kurumba hut which is the ground floor of a 2 storey structure (the log hut is placed above this). Every time someone walks/ climbs the staircase leading upto the log hut, it was really loud and felt as though someone was walking on our head. As a result of this, we could not sleep an ounce until quite late when everyone had gone to sleep.

We checked out a day early as my husband was sick and mostly because we were not enjoying our stay one bit.

I did not go here looking for a luxury stay, understand the place is basic and remote and all that, but even for a basic place, Glenview was not upto the mark. Everything was sub-standard and badly planned.

If you are looking for good service and a nice place to stay - do not make the mistake of going here!! This was the worst trip of my life.

Room Tip: Do not choose the kurumba hut- this is the worst room available!

We, a group of 7 friends visited this place. We just loved the resort. The best part is the hospitality and the service provided by Kabilan, Lokesh & Arun. They were just available for us anytime in any aspect. I would strongly recommend people to go there if they visit masinagudi. And the main reason being we checked all the other resorts which is on our way. But the location of this resort is inside the jungle and its just simply outstanding. All thanks to the co workers as they simplified the ease in jungle. Will visit you again. Cheers..!!!

We booked the Mud hut, can't complain about the location and place Its very quite and calm but its not the worth for the money you pay. The room is not maintained AT ALL, they say its based on the local tribe theme but it doesn't mean all the things in the room to reflect the same. Right from the mattress to the towel they provide its all yucky. We struggled to pass the night we stayed. Worms are all around the room and also in the ceiling. Didn't had a good sleep. We also thought of shifting to tree house and we had a look its no different from the mud hut. Food is OK for that remote location but NOT GREAT. only positive is the staff they will get you what you want but what ever they provide won't be of quality. Masanagudi was great place to enjoy nature but won't recommend glen view. We were couple, stayed from 16/08/2013 to 18/08/2013

Room Tip: Won't recommend.

We have done several updates to the property, after your visit.
1. All the rooms have been repainted.
2. Pest control services have started.
3. Several other minor maintenance tasks have been accomplished.

Dear Madam,

Thank you for the review. Glen view is a jungle hide out, as advertised on the website. The problem of insects has been taken care of, as we have engaged the best pest control company to take care of this. In spite of that, due to the location of the property, there are chances of those barging in. But that is rather uncommon.

We do not advertise availability of swimming pool or fitness centre. This property is ideal for nature enthusiasts and for those who are looking for a complete cut off from the busy city life.

Last New Year I was there with my friends in Glen View resort to celebrate New Year . We were having drinks inside our room and suddenly Police came inside the room and took all our drinks . The crime what they say is we were having karnataka Liquor and not Tamilnadu Liquor . The Manager Thilakesh was not able to do anything . When I asked the management number, he was not ready to give. Our entire new year eve got spoiled , So never ever visit there .Anytime police can come to your room and harass you for no reason. Management was not able to do anything on this.
