“A magical Evening”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

Fantasea was billed as the Ultimate Cultural Theme Park, and it certainly lived up to expectations.
You arrived around 6 pm and had time to walk around the many and varied side how's and shops before eating the Buffett Dinner which was part of the total package. The food was excellent and the wide variety meant you were spoilt with choice. The fruit laid out included a dozen tropical fruits which were all very tasty.
More exploring, elephant rides then into the auditorium for the show hitch started at 9 pm. The elephants were amazing with many other wild animals on how.
It was a breathtaking show, and lasted just over the 1 hour 15 minutes.
Children would love the show, and all the side show attractions as well, although not a chep night out, 2400 baht, it was money well spent. The ticket price included transport to and from the venue.

“If you enjoy animal cruelty, disappointing food and an amateur show be there guest!”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

I cannot even begin to describe this place. After having been recommended to see this show by many people I booked a ticket without hesitation (or research, silly me). And what a silly idea that turned out to be.

I walked in to find a bunch of shops with carnival games and photo opportunities. Didn't really feel there was a need to arrive early. But the people at Fantasea said there was a lot to do so I went early. What I found was like my previous expectation, there was no need to arrive early. I however wasn't too worried about this because I was here for the show and happy to wait.

The first major disappointment was walking into the mini zoo. Animals in small cages with a bunch of people using there flashes to take photos of them. ( if you HAVE to go to the show then please don't be so ignorant as to use your flash and take photos of these beautiful animals. How would you feel if that was you).

The next Big disappointment was when I got to the end of the mini zoo. Two beautiful white tigers in a white concrete room. How board must these two tigers be in an environment with thousands of people peering in at them, in a tiny white room, with a small white pool and a bunch of flashes going off. Prisoners in most countries would live in better conditions then this. And if you think this isn't cruelty then please feel free to go sit in a white room for hours on end every day of the week for the rest of your life . If you are still sane and happy then I will happily take your word that this isn't cruelty.

After all this I thought ok just get over it and go watch the show. Well the performances were amateur . A whole lot of people in fancy costumes doing absolutely nothing special. Needles to say I was more entertained by the baby sitting next to me who was really cute and pulling funny faces.

And please don't even get me started on the elephants. For starters the riders have nice fancy golden bull hooks. And if you watch the riders closely you will most definitely see at least one of them getting Into these beautiful animals with their hook. You will also notice them twisting the elephants ears amongst other things. However this is not the worst. If you are going to visit this place then please do some research on what is required to make these animals perform such tricks. You can do this by either spending some time at an elephant rehabilitation centre or doing research on the Internet.

I really don't feel the need to say any more. Although I could go into a lot more detail. If this review hasn't put you of then sadly I don't think anything will, except for maybe attending the show and seeing for yourself. However I really hope that you don't, because if my calculations are correct this company if they sold out every seat in that theatre ( which they almost do)then they would be making close to $400 000 Au per night ( with the average ticket cost being 1600 baht most cost more if you want the buffet which was awful by the way.) . And for this money they won't invest a single cent into building an appropriate home for there tigers or treating an elephant with respect. So my question to you is is why should you spend a single cent supporting this company?

“Must see show!!”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

And all night experience and one not to be missed.
On arrival, not too far by transfer from Patong, looks like showground. It says cultural show, but dont be put off, it is fun and colourful.
Everything is in lights and very overwhelming. Spend the night eating, playing games in arcade (easy to win prizes), mini zoo with tigers, performances, and shops with gifts.
Huge Buffet, my friend loved and was full for 2days. I am allergic to nuts, even had a different meal plated up but still had minor reaction, not much english understood, so if allergic just eat chips and rice.
The show was just non stop amazing. there was a story line but they don't really follow it well, you watch just for the acts. There was bungy/trapeze, 18 elephants, elephant tricks, fireworks, magic show (hilarious), fight scenes, etc. Just over an hour long, very good!!
Staff very organised, knowing what transfer you need etc.

“Over rated”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

I found this very over rated, food was terrible and the show ok but didn't really carry any theme and or story at least from what I could follow. I'd give the food a big miss and just see the show and not a real lot to see or do other than the show
